I picked up my 2000 LX470 yesterday and figured I would start documenting the build here. This is my first Landcruiser and it has just under 219K miles on it, but service records from the Lexus dealer from delivery through the last oil change at 215K. All major maintenance items were done to Lexus recommendations including timing belts at 90K and 180K, and oil changes every 5K miles. It has more miles than I was wanting, but having all the service records eased my mind on that front.

Here are some pictures from when I picked it up yesterday, AHC still functions correctly, so I will try to get an inch or so of lift out of them and run that as long as possible. Pictures are low, normal, high settings, and interior shots. Hard to believe the seats were this clean with so many miles on it.

When I knew I was picking it up on Sunday, I went and bought some new tires/wheels as the Michelin tires on it were not what I was wanting. I bought the satin bronze XD Portal wheels, but after setting them next to it yesterday, I have decided to return them and get the black instead. Once I get bumpers and sliders, I will paint the side cladding body color and powdercoat the bumpers/sliders black. I also bought a set of Nitto Trail Grapplers in 275/70/18 for the new wheels, everyone says they fit, but it sure looks like it's going to be close.

Congrats! just got my 99' LX470 last weekend. Black wheels will definitely look better on yours. Mine is black and I decided to go with Icon Rebound in bronze (17"). hopefully the center cap will fit. Enjoy the build!

Got the tires put on today and installed the new head unit. Next up installing the sub to add a little bass to the stereo. I also received the new struts for the hood and hatch and those will be going on tomorrow hopefully.

Didn’t have a bunch of time today, but did get to install new struts for the hatch and pick up my wife’s GS FSport from the car audio place. The FSport got a full system with Audison Voce components up from, Voce Coax in the rear, a 10” Kicker CompQ in a potted box, JL XD 1000.5, and a JL Fox for integration. The thing absolutely hammers now, and she loves it.

Tricked the sensors to get a little over an inch of lift in the front, so brought it in for an alignment. Might have to cut the all thread to bring the sensors all the way together to get a little extra lift in the future, but For now the front sits 1/2” lower than the rear and I’m ok with that. Also trimmed and hammered the pinch weld and had to trim the bumper a little bit. Previous owner had bounced the bumper off something and it knocked the bumper in about 1/4”, causing it to rub.

we are twinning. except I put bronze wheels. which trim piece did you use to install the head unit? I've been wanting to switch it out for a long time now.
