Check out this 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser on Autotrader

went and drove this truck today...

10,500 plus the doc fee so 11k. been sitting on their lot since May. I would think they are motivated sellers. Dad thinks I'm crazy to buy truck with 250k miles on it.

Pros-
2 owner truck
exterior is 8 out 10
interior is 9 out of 10
no warning lights
michelin tires with 80% tread left
extensive service records
they will take my taco on trade...
truck is clean and whisper quiet.

cons-
-245k miles
-price seems too high
-can't get financing- not that i need it, but its a liability on resale.
- carfax showing minor crash with cosmetic damage.
-will need 90k service in 20 miles

whats a fair price?

Price is WAY high. $8500 tops if everything else checks out & you don't have to do a timing belt service for some time. $7500 if there's no record of timing belt/WP service & you have to do it right away.

Recently purchased a 2000 in good overall condition with 200K on the dial. From a dealer, so docs and tax are included. Total out the door was $9250. Hope that serves as a decent data point.

I might've found a lower mileage truck, but was happy with its history and condition to pay the asking price. Not disappointed.

Overall I would say it's a good option if the price was lowered. It's still got quite a few miles.

Ignore what anyone else says unless they're in the same area or you are willing to fly/drive to get something. I paid 15k for my 03 LC with 182k the first of the year. I drove to Spartanburg to get it because I couldn't find anything here in NC in a condition that satisfied me. My LC has an impeccable maintenance history and the 2nd 90k service had been done about 3k miles prior to me purchasing it. Everything I looked at locally in the 10k range was with the 4 speed and worn out. I opted to pay more for the 5 speed on the advice of a friend who is an LC enthusiast since it was intended to be a DD. With all of that said the same vehicle would go for several thousand less in other areas of the country.

Edit - 90k is about 1000 here if they do the full service so factor that in.

thanks simple. I can wait and wait and ride the bus, or make some compromises. y'all have been very helpful. Just don't want to s*** the bed...

FWIW - I was looking for a 4Runner V8 for months before I gave up and decided to get an LC. The one I called about was sold but the dealer had another they had been driving and didn't plan to sell at the time. It turned out to be in far better condition maintenance-wise. More or less - I got lucky.

yeah that way oiverpriced...thats what a 2005+ with that many miles goes for
