wow this is very interesting; but guys the block may be made here and then assembled in japan??? But that seems odd to ship back and forth. The usa market is very small so that could just be 1 boat load for the entire year?

Ummm if we are seeing an authentic label on the 200 series...then what other verification do you need? I don't think someone is going to make up a label and take a pic of it. (if that is what you are implying)

Hi all,Im the newest member from sunny Western Australia,lots of L C's here,I drive a Land cruiser Prado 90 series,3.4l gas V6,when the 70 series first hit the market back in 85 country buyers didn't like the modern look so I spend some years rebuilding 47 series with great success ,after a couple of years the 70's prove to be a good workhorse and the country buyers embace this model with great confidence, a few months ago the 79 series hit the market with a 4.5 l turbo common rail V8 diesel (single turbo,de rated HP in comparison to the 200 series)

The stickers of the latest batch of Yaris imported here says they are assembled in Japan but when the Toyota electronic diagnostic tool is hooked to the vehicle it displays a code for the assembling plant which match the one located in Thailand

I doubt the 200's V8 is US-made. We know the 2UZ for the 100 was made in Japan at the Tahara plant while those for the Tundra/Sequoia are/were made in the US. Not sure about the 2UZ for the 4Runner. We know it's made at Tahara, so I'd presume they'd use an engine made in the same plant rather than ship one from half-way around the world. BTW, many of the overseas 200's still have the 2UZ (and diesel) as the only engine options...no 5.7L V8.
Doe's anybody Knows what kind of engine are putting in the 200 in the middle east? That will be the answer to this dilemma, because that is a very important market for LC. If the 5.7 L is being sell in the Middle East I 'm pretty shore is build in Japan.

The only place in the world that is selling 200 series Land Cruiser with the 5.7 is USA. All other places have either the 4.0 v6, 4.7 v8 petrols or 4.5 v8 diesel. In Mexico for example, the LC is a 4.7 v8.
The LX50 however is different.
