Well been shopping around and Sears has the best deal for a 2 ton. $199 w/ free shipping.
Been looking on craigslist for a used one but for the price delivered don't think it can be beat.
It looks the same as alot of other people on the net are selling which probly says it's chinese but whatever. I'm not using it like a commercial garage.
Got to move around my axles, and pull my 60 engine and drivetrain.
Any one have any good or bad reviews?

I got the exact same one from Pep Boys. It is identical to that and has the folding legs and everything. The brand is "BigRed" or some Chinese nonsense like that.

It works great. I've pulled several motors with it, and even pulled the motor tranny, t-case combo on my FJ40. I've used it several times through the door of my FJ60 to pull up and fit the tranny/toybox/t-case combo.

I use it to put axles up on my work bench for welding, move the spare motors around the garage, and the folding legs are a major plus.

I did replace some of the hardware. I didn't trust the grade 4.8 hardware in the pivots and so I replaced them with grade 10.8 bolts. I also put a better forged hook on it.

I remember I paid $99 at PepBoys on sale. I saw it one weekend in their newspaper add, drove to the store and bought the only one they had.

Like you, I'm a home user only, but it's been fine. The ram would take maybe 10 minutes to replace if it became necessary. So in short, for a Chinese POS, in non-professional use, it's been great. By far the best feature is the folding legs.

Good to hear Andrew.

What position did you have the boom in when you pulled the engine/tranny/transfer combo in?

I was trying to guesstimate the weight of the whole shebang as that's how I need to pull it. I want to set it in the new frame and make sure the engine mounts and tranny crossmember mount are all kosher before I weld it.

I used the position labeled 2 tons. 1 1/2 probably would have worked. I figured all that together was more than 1000 pounds and wanted a safety cushion. I also have a 12 x 6 engineered timber that I place cross ways on the legs, so I can set the motor down to stabilize things while I move it around. Having all that weight swinging around does not look like a good plan.

It's also helpful to have an engine leveler. I didn't used to have one, but LilJohn came over and used the hoist to pull the motor out of his FJ55. He donated a leveler to the cause, and I've used it several times since. You will want one even though it isn't absolutely necessary. It makes it much easier to tilt the motor, which makes it easier to put in and out.

On all of this Chinese gear the bit parts tend to be garbage. Look carefully at all of the bolts and the chain/hook before you suspend a 2F with it.

Good luck, and be careful.

Gotcha.
I actually already have a leveler.
I will definately look in to replacing the hook for piece of mind.
Thanks.

*New Update*

Checked the unit out at Tractor Supply and just wasn't feeling it. Kinda was sloppy and cheap looking. Wound up buying a 16X20 canvas tarp to cover one the yard cruisers.

So I decide to take a ride to Harbor Freight today. BAM, that was it. Way heavier looking than the Big Red at TS. On sale for $169 to boot!!
Very, very satisfied with this purchase. Took about a half hour to bolt together. Already broke it's cherry by flipping the 60 frame.
