Have a 9/72 whose front heater fan only runs on the first click on the pull, but not all of the way out. I assume this is high when pulled all of the way out. Where do I start to fix because it's getting cold!

Pretty simple to figure out. There is only one winding in your blower motor. Low speed is in series with a resistor that's mounted on the motor. The high speed wire is is connected so it by passes the resistor. Quick fix would be to just put a jumper across the two terminals on the resistor. That will give you high speed only. But your problem is in the heater switch or the high speed wire from the switch to the blower motor.

Will give this a try tonight. Thanks! Am I right that the pull half way out is low and all the way out is high?

That's correct.

When checking your wiring make sure the wiring harness has a wire soldered to each end of the resistor. If the wiring looks good it may be a bad switch. I have taken them apart and clean them up on the inside before and got them to work. Depending on where your at it might be easier to just find another one.

it could be the contacts inside the switch. i had a switch that didn't work (might have been my heater) because of water leaking under the windshield and dripping on it. fixed the leak but still didn't work. ended up taking it apart and cleaned the contacts with emery cloth and has worked for the past 5 years. might give it a try. good luck!
