Hello everyone.
I swear I looked and searched. Most threads are for 17s, I really want to stick with 18s for a balance of looks and function. If someone has a link to a thread post it please.

I have (on back order) the dobinsons 2” medium duty lift. Plan on getting some 18” fuel wheels, likely with 0 offset.

I’m looking for tires. What size say you? Thinking 275/65/18 Toyo open country ATIII in C load range.

Would like to avoid any rubbing or body mods.

whats up brenorman,

I have the 275/65/18 on my stock wheels on my 2012 with stock suspension. I have wheeled it and did a lot of fast maneuvers and probably only rubbed once. I think you should be fine with the 2" lift to account for the backspacing. worst case scenario, a tad bit of plastic massaging is needed. Here is how mine looks with those tires.

To be honest, it really doesn't matter what size your rim is, whether it's a 16" to 22".
The to biggest factors are rim offset and tire diameter. Okay, and sometimes tire width.
But as long as you're not going with a stupid wide wheel/tire combination and you know your offset, you can use this online tire calculator:
Here you can measure what an 18" tire size you want with compatible 17" tire diameters.
Example:
285/70/17 = 32.7" O.D.
270/70/18 = 32.9" O.D. (+ 0.2", or less than a quarter inch larger in outside diameter)
You may not be able to get the exact size across both rim diameters but close enough to work! ;)

Got it! Thank you

so it looks like with a 2” lift and aftermarket wheels with 0 offset (the offset of OEM wheels is extreme, like +25 or something) I need to be at about <33” OD

what I’m really worried about is the different offset between oem and aftermarket wheels

I have the Dobinson's lift, SPC UCA's, 275 65 18 AT3's on Black Rhino wheels with zero offset. Yes, it does still rub but I have not done anything to further modify at this point.

What’s the offset on the wheels? How bad is the rubbing?

Can you post a pic? This is similar to what I want to do. Thanks
