Ok, she is not much to look at yet, little rust here and there, but that will be taken care of eventually. Neat things are, still has the owners handbook, tool kit, and service light in the glove box. The frame is not anywhere what I was expecting, it looks like mainly surface stuff, but we'll see when we get to rust wheeling it. I think it looks cool stock, but we'll see how long that lasts. All in all I would say I am overall impressed, even the :princess: likes it.

Congrats! Looks great. Love the whitewalls!

Great lookin cruiser. x2 on the whitewalls :grinpimp:

Nice find, I hope you get a slow station and can pull into the bay and work at work:) Keep it as stock as possible you'll be surprised at what it will do!

Order for the day, baseline all fluids!!! The oil on the dipstick is as black as the black gold found by the clampetts. I guess that is what happens when it sits for 2 years. Also will be changing the t-case, axles etc.... I read a guy on mud's build up with a rattle can and WOW his looked awesome!!! I might not go as far as to rattle can the exterior, but I definately will look into using the primers and welding in 16g steel to the places it needs. I do have a spray gun for my compressor, it is just trying to keep flow going on a 26 gal air tank to keep it going. we'll see how it all shakes out, but I plan on starting SOMETHING today, as neil young said "rust never sleeps"

Nice find! Can't wait to watch it grow!

So I guess you didn't sell the AR?

Grats on the new ride!! That rig is WAY COOL! :grinpimp:

Congrats Bro------ Good Lookin 40!

Ok, so we got the fluids (all but the front diff....tomorrow) changed over and new. I was suprised at how much better it sounded once it had new fluids in all of the places it needs fluid in!! I also was a bit suprised how wound out it sounds at highway speeds. 40 mph na problem mon, 60 mph i'm gonna coma part mon wow!! I figured with the 2F and the 4 speed it'd behave more like the 60, but it is a different animal. I like it, it is fun!! Tomorrow comes the hard part....... Anyone have any fenders they wanna part with? Just inquiring.....

resevationcody had some alumimum ones in cherokee a couple of wks ago.

More pics man, more pics! Use that silver star, make Woody buy more storage . . .

Man, I tried to call you David the day we brought it home, we had to stop in Weavervegas, and I was gonna get ya to come down and look at it with your perfect 40 series:D Anyway, we got the top off with some elbow grease and shearing off some old bolts.... Ambulance doors are not the easiest thing to get off once they have been painted on ( the screws that is) however a 9mm 16pt socket hammered on will take them out. Tomorrow I think we are going to band aid the tub where the driver's seat is, as that looks as though it is going to fall through. But here are some pics of it with the top off. Also, a little paint in the engine bay goes a long way for making it look better!!!

Very cool. Looks like it's all there.

Let me know if you have any part needs. I have a few.

As far as the sheetmetal. If you don't have the funds to buy new reproductions I would suggest you find a local sheetmetal shop. Make some templates of what you need and have them bend some stuff up for you. It's usually cheap. And looks a heck of a lot better than what you or I can do with a hammer. You can have them bend up some 14 ga for the floors. That is thick enough to not need the ribs.

Jay,

This looks great! You should be able to do a nice restoration with some sheet metal and replacement parts. If you need help with wirebrushing the frame and POR 15ing, that's my speciality. Pop the hood and get some engine shots for us as well as an undercarriage pic.

I'll have to agree that even in 4th, a 2f feels as if it is going to explode above 60mph.

I've got a 5 gal bucket of 90 weight if you need to refill your diffs. I also have a bib or bikini that came with my truck that I've never opened and you are welcome to if you plan to run topless.
