exactly why i recommend anyone that ownes a diesel shoudl install a pyro as the very first thing they do...

way faster than most people think...

But mines don't raise that faster .. are like " normal " IMOP sure .. ( less faster than you can see in the video ) and for go over 1100 it take more time ..

Tapage, have you ever had your truck dyno'd? Do you know how well the turbo is working for you?

I'm scared !!!!

I'm still thinking my turbo is working awesome and my Tencha it's pulling at least 200 HP :D but wat's up if go at dyno and found that only have 96 HP .. !

heartattack !

Dougal, I guess you will have to argue with the engineer who built that thing. As Crushers says ...

That thing looks like it may have a water/air intercooler built into it. The port on the side looks like an intercooler core is visible through it.

Yes Tapage, I guess I should have just "self dyno'd" it, I would have given it 250hp:)

Regarding the intake manifold/inter-cooler posted above -

It would be interesting to see what that individual did internally, if anything, inside the intake to clean up the air flow. Large volume changes, like what appear to be the case there, are never a good thing in fluid flow, especially if the fluid is compressible. But the interior flow passages could be dramatically different than what appears on the outside, so to comment otherwise is purely speculation.:o

The intake on a 1HZ appears to be less than ideal, from an airflow perspective.:crybaby: (It appears to be ideal for cost effectiveness, and ease of packaging, however) On several occasions, I've pondered building a "header like" intake for my 1HZ, but really need to install the turbo first. Then, once a top mounted inter-cooler is added (like Wayne's 1PZ), a simpler tubular manifold connecting the cooler and the head could be built.

The existing 1HZ/1HD manifold should perform relatively better under pressure, but there still must be very significant pressure drops with all of the hard/square 90's in that design. A significant reduction in pressure drop by replacing that manifold has to be available....

Just my 2cents worth......

And paraphrasing Wayne...

"Hey, I'm just an engineer, so what do I know?":beer:

LOL,

Tapage, didn't you post a video link of your truck drive by? can't find it anymore.

It is actually on a Nissan Patrol which I believe is a very similar engine to the 1HZ from what i have read. As douglas said it integrates a water air intercooler. Here is the link to the Patrol forum thread:

John

now there is a guy that thinks outside the box...good on him.

the thing looks absolutely imtimidating once installed.

might be nice for those of us that like to mud run, no clogged core to deal with...

thanks for posting.

Maybe you could put a couple of beer in it and keep them cool too:)

Actually the glove box can be quickly modded as a beer cooler in Trolls/Safaris by using AC . Its pretty common in Australia. Somehow I think it would be frowned upon here. I can just see a police road stop "licence, registration and a cold one". LOL

But on the topic of the intercooler, they get all the good stuff in Australia and at good prices. Could you imagine finding a water air intercooler core in NA for under $200? If so, tell me where!

I know a guy that bought a dodge caliber or somethign just because it can hold a 6pack in the glovebox and chill it

LOL, corre muy bien en el plano pero puedes subir montan~as como este ?:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

Sorry, just couldn't resist. :grinpimp:

Ok, we all like videos, here is an underhood video of the turbo in action - hilarious!

Oh, and I have already sold 3 of these kits, I am working with the turbo shop to fab up everything we need to have a simple bolt on kit. Contact me if interested.

Just cruisers for now, but might do the nissan 4.2's if i can get a model to play with. The kit will be in the 2K range, just working out the pricing with all the trinkets now, intercoolers might be available as well. Things like internal and xternal wastegates, turbosmart controllers etc will cause the price to vary.

We had a need for cruisers, and we still need more, now we need turbos for them:)

Wow, if you can do a 2,000 range for a Safari you will be getting the business of the few Safari owners there are in Canada. I know that ATEB is doing the Safari TM turbos but they are a lot of money. I think double that price but may include an exhaust. Kodiak sells the ATX kit at around $3,500.

Here is a little gem for your test bench at under $2,400 CAN: http://www.daishi-trading.jp/detail.php?No=1243. It is listed as a gasser but pics clearly show it as a diesel. With a turbo on it, it should fetch a good profit. If I had the 4-6K to bring it here, I would buy it.
