the starter goes click click click the voltage is at 13.6v.

Voltage looks good.
Clicking is the big red flag here.

Almost 100% certainty this is due to worn out contacts in the starter motor solenoid.
Contacts can be replaced fairly cheaply or replace the whole starter.
A dead battery cell ( less than 12v under load) can cause it too

sounds like connections, starter relay or starter solenoid. tap on the starter while cranking and see if it starts. if it was locked up it would draw alot of amps and get super hot.

Here's a vid of the starter partly torn down...I connected a 12v battery to the starter and it worked flawlessly. So under load seems to be an issue...

Hmmm, hard to see from your video.
The terminals in the starter look pitted. May be enough erosion to be problematic.

My 24 volt starter was a lot worse when it failed though. The two terminals inside the starter were almost worn through on mine. So not sure

Bench testing puts no load on the starter.
IME, they can bench test ok, but fail under load.

While you have it out, replace the plunger and terminals. $40 bucks worth of parts plus shipping. You've done the hard part in pulling it out. Even if it's not your problem, fresh plunger and terminals is a good idea.

low current from batteries can also cause the clicking. But if both batteries are showing 12 volts plus while under load, you should be good.

I've never seen contacts completely wear out, it's that they stop working when one contact is lower then the other so replacing the contacts is a good idea, looking at your contacts in the video it could be the issue. Connect a incandescent head light bulb or simmiler load to the starter solenoid connection in the truck and turn the key to start. Does the bulb light up as bright as it would connected directly to a battery? This is load testing your relays and circuits in the truck.

I think at that point replace the whole starter.

If it's been starting strongly, my guess is the starter is fine.
The rapid clicking is due to either poor contacts not passing enough current through the solenoid for it to lock in, or low current/ voltage from the batteries not holding the solenoid in for some reason.

Check voltage of batteries under load.
Check contacts in the solenoid
Check ground cables for corrosion at terminals, or loose connection to the 24 bolt charge over solenoid, engine block, frame, batteries etc
Check 12+ve cables and terminals at batteries, starter, 24 volt change over solenoid

Total silence?
Click and nothing?
Click and tries to crank?
Rapid, repeated click click click?
Something else?

Have you tested the battery voltage?
Read the voltage while it's under load such as turning to start, or turn hi beam lights on.
What voltage do you have?

Hi, I'm also in a similar situation as the last guy. Except mine will just click then nothing. It has been an issue for probably 12 months now, I replaced the starter then it was fine for a couple months then started happening again, i had mechanics say that the starter must be faulty so replaced it again and same thing happened a couple months later. Then I changed the battery terminal clamps as they were flogged out, the problem went away again for another couple of months.

Now I'm back with the same problem. Turn the key, hear 2 clicks and that's it. Sometimes it starts first go sometimes after quite a bit of keybanging and other times it won't go at all no matter what I try. The last few times it turns over really really slowly before it fires as if it has flat battery's. I have connected jumper leads to it but doesn't make any difference.

Are you running a 12v or 24v starter? If you're running a 12v does it have the 24v Voltage booster? Could be overvolting a 12v starter to 24v causing it to go out.

Well, seems like they've finally found the problem.
Apparsntly the a/c clutch went and it kept sending current the opposite direction making the fuze to constantly blow. They're hoping to just take the belt out of the a/c belt loop. That should give me everything back, except for a/c ofcourse.

Off to find an a/c clutch.

I had this issue as well. The AC clutch seized and a strange “plastic” was coated on everything in the spinning plain of the AC clutch. Everything you described happened to me as well. Blew a fuse, replaced the fuse and took the AC compressor belt off. Everything worked again. Ended up replacing ALL of the AC system components….compressor, evaporator expansion valve, dryer and condenser…..Lol.
