i'm ideally looking for a HDj77, but it can only be a 5 speed (only way it cleared the Wife's OK.)
sounds like this swap may be more work than i want to undertake for our "family" truck.

buy a HZJ77 and stick a mapped turbo on to it, this way you end up with a sweet ass truck with no sensitive throttle possibilities...

congrates, i think you will be quite happy with this unit.
did you get it inspected before you bid on it?
the report was body is quite nice, a couple minor dents and scratches, interior acceptable except floor
no lockers or winch, big deal you can add them.
i really like the look of the rims, very unique.
you even have a bed for the back...
when it arrives shoukd you fine the power a bit on the lacking side i sell a turbo setup that really makes that truck come alive.
the one thing you will need to deal with is the tail lights since they are not DOT or SAE compliant.
<i will be very shocked if you can get it over next week, but then the rag top i bought was on the next boat so here is hopping for the best for you>

I'm in a hurry to replace our family vehicle, so i'm eating the container shipping charges to get it over more reliably than a ro-ro.
I've been keeping tabs on your l4 series tail lights conversion with interest.
PM me more info about the turbo setup, i've been trying to find some info about this.
Why'd you pass on it? I know several others that are actively looking for a 77 series in 5 speed, virtually regardless of condition.

1HD-t in a 78
hi there guys, i had been contemplating on putting a HD-T on my LJ78. this can be done but you have to actually change the front with a 77series. i'm just in the stage of changing the front end of my LJ78 to a front end of a 77series. the fendersand hood can be bolted on but the radiator hangar which is further up front will have to be fabricated. they have done in here in the philippines. you attach a 2inch tubing through a hole cut in the chassis creating a new cross member.
a 1kz-te transplant is the most straight forward. you have car like acceleration. but i guess the dream engine will be a 1HD-T or a 1HD-FT
