Happy Friday! Just got a few questions for the more knowledgeable people out there
1. Could corrosion on the injector hard lines (where the injector meets the actual hardline nipple thingy) cause air to leak into system ? But not fuel to leak?
2. Should this hardline be open ended. Photo included( assuming it’s some sort of breather but just wanted to verify
Lasty have a goood weekend everyone!

That return fitting looks upside down. The big line should point towards the fuel filter and the small line should point up to injector return bar.

From what I’m seeing it looks correct(sorry for my horrible photo). I’m just referring to photos I’m seeing online of other pumps.

I just couldn’t figure out if that downward line is a breather or what

I’m no expert but I doubt that a fuel pump would have a breather, usually breathers are at the fuel tanks. There’s usually a bleeder valve on or near the fuel pump.
Yeah that makes sense I’ll have a look and see if I can’t figure out what’s going on there

UPDATE: so i removed the hard lines and cleaned off where the hard line nozzle enters the injector (mine had corrosion and a bit of rust),using 400 grit sandpaper and put it all back together. after two cold starts (this morning and last night) the problem seems to be fixed.

I think that part of the banjo fitting pointing downwards is solid and is just a locator to stop it moving when you tighten the plug.
