losing sleep over this one! after three late nights at the mechanics, I am hoping someone can provide some assistance:
Vehicle:105 1FZ supercharged, W2A cooled, running a piggyback ECU & 2 additional injectors.
If I start the car early in the morning (it's cold in MELB atm), it will idle, drive & rev perfectly up to about 2k. Then it feels like it is hitting a rev limiter. Once warmed up, either running or sometimes just later in the day, the issue will arise around 3k. the other night after a decent drive it pushed the issue out to 5k.
No CEL
We are all betting on electrical, so far I have:
- replaced ECT sensor, air filter, plugs and leads
- checked for vacuum leaks, electrical connections, timing & spark, fuel pressure = 40psi, repaired insulation damage to CAS
- bypassed charcoal canister
- removed ECU to check for burnt-out capacitors
- saw online someone said fit an 800ohm resistor across the IAT plug to bypass. metered on the bench and got a change on the actual sensor when open air, and then body temp from my hand heat
- MAP sensor was only checked by unplugging & removing vacuum (won't run)
just downloaded the manual & saw surging often look at fuel pressure reg (pressure was tested) & injectors - maybe as the air warms up the car needs less fuel and therefore the breakdown is happening when large amounts of fuel is required to be sprayed...
