While my head was off being rebuilt I had my valve cover glass beaded and then powder coated. The bright red with the black spark plug wire covers looks nice. Not too Bling, Bling. Can anyone tell me where I can get a new 1FZ-FE sticker that goes on the front of the valve cover?. I hate to bother CDan for such a small item and my local dealer say it can't be ordered. Worst case, can anyone snap a photo of one and maybe I can have one duplicated locally at a sign shop. Measurements would be nice or throw a tape next to it so I can get a reference.

Used only on very early 1FZ production 8-92 to 5-93. From that point on the emblem was not installed. You could certainly add one. If you originally had one either it was added by somebody or the engine (at least the valve cover) is not original to your vehicle.

I would like to see a pic of that cover, please sir.

The cover is a replacement I believe from a lexus? It had silver spark plug covers instead of my stock black ones. You are correct, the original one from my 97 does not have any decals.

Does the front cover have a Lexus emblem or a Toyota Emblem?

The 93-94 80 covers are silver with a Toyota emblem, the Lexus ones are silver with a Lexus emblem. The 95-up 80 covers are black with a Toyota emblem.

Lexus cover has the nifty "L" on it...and it's silver, not black.

You're engine will get far too hot for sign-shop vinyl, BTW.

Damn Dan, all I can say is wow.

Between you and Pimp we got all bases covered. :D

I guess I shouldn't be obsessing about such a small detail. I will run the cover without the emblem or order one from the older cruiser.

Can these be had from toyota or not? I looked up that part number and it shows a group of parts and I don't see that sticker in there.

See post #2 (from almost 11 years ago, hard to believe it's been that long).

Resurrecting this thread because I have a question...

I want to put the 1-FZ decal on my valve cover. Do you guys think that it would melt/get sticky because of the engine heat?

Here's a picture of it on a 1-FZ. (See below)
And here it is on Cruiserparts. 1FZ-FE Valve Cover Decal [A-22 - 11291-66010] - $6.99 : CruiserParts.net, Toyota Landcruiser Parts

Thanks!

The glue shoud hang in there close to 200° and the decal slightly above that. Your oil can reach close to that temp but likely won't. Should be all good.

Is this a serious question?

This is a factory part that was fitted to production engines.

What do you think?

I didn't know if Cruiserpart's sticker was OEM or if it was a reproduction. I also didn't know if the original was an engraved nameplate on the valve-cover. (It's hard to tell just by looking at that picture) I'm just a 19yr old kid asking some questions about his Cruiser. I don't really appreciate the churlish response from you, sir.

Enjoy your evening. ;)

Good for you! I have no experience when it comes to anything cars. I joined this forum in order to discover information/get insight from 'experienced' individuals like yourself, so that I can learn about my rig. I have to say, I haven't really felt welcome – which is unfortunate. Perhaps I'll take my questions elsewhere.

Take it easy, pal!

Thanks so much for your quick response to my question! I was concerned because someone up near the top of the thread had said something about the engine bay being too hot for vinyl.

Cheers!
