Hi
Anyone, preferably in Chicago area, willing to lend me a 1FZ engine block with just crank, flexplate, and starter? Will pay rent if you help ship etc. I am in Canada but am having a shop build an adapter to adapt a 6 speed auto to the 1FZ and he needs it to model from. Very expensive to ship my stuff to USA
Thanks

I might be able to do something i'm in Kansas City. I have a bad spare motor headless.

I might take you up on that, you are closest so far. Trying to find cheap return shipping tp Wisconsin first. I would like to send mine but Vancouver bc is far. You OK just to lend it, or only sell?
Thanks

Have you ever tried Fastenal?

Fastenal Industrial Supplies, OEM Fasteners, Safety Products & More - https://www.fastenal.com/fast/blue-lane-freight ? They have 2 regions and they don’t cross over but…I’m 2020 I shipped a F-135 engine, transmission, transfer case from TX to VA for $225.23 and same items from MS to VA for $169.98 strapped to a pallet. They aren’t super quick but if you aren’t in a hurry the price more than makes up for it.

Fastenal has discontinued their 3rd party shipping services. It sucks because it was a very reasonable way to ship.

it was much harder for me to use Fastenal as my local branch couldn't ship out, so I had to go 170 mile round trip to a branch that could ship out.
it defeated the savings.

$750 I have a freight guy last engine I shipped freight for $250-300. If you want to return I’ll refund $450.

That’s just block lower end not the head.

What’s wrong with it?
Thanks
Looks like head gasket was blown and sat for a few years #6 has some scoring and low compression

I might be able to help. I am removing my old engine and swapping in a brand new short block. Hope you are not in a rush.

Hi All
thanks for trying but nothing has worked out so I am shipping one of mine.
Any interest out there for buying adapters, 1FZ to 6R80 and 10R80 transmissions, and an adapter to stock transfer case? I doubt it will be a cheap conversion as you will have to buy an aftermarket controller also. Let me know, the more a manufacture the cheaper it will be. Saludos

Following along with this. Great idea, @hazard.

Better low range crawling, and (likely) better* fuel economy

Sharing these tables that I did to satisfy my curiosity

Hey
I never thought about the other benefits besides driveability and mileage. Good one! I have just shipped my block and transfer case. This is going to happen. Let me know if you want one.
Cheers

This was a temporary thread. Maybe I should start one dedicated to the trans swap and share your table?

Please do! The A343F seemed to be hold back a lot of Turbo gainz, too (since going to aftermarket ECU still requires piggyback to stock ECU to control trans).

@hazard --> I'm definitely interested, but would need to know the price and price out the trans swap cost.

Looks like there's still no standalone controller for 10R80, yet
