I'm VERY interested in doing a diesel conversion. Likely to be a Toyota engine. My MAIN concern is registration/smog. I have a 1994 FJZ80 (pre OBD2) and live in Las Vegas, Nevada. Can someone please share their experience in getting the title/registration and smog issues handled.
If I have a 1994 FJZ80 can I do a 1991 1HDT swap?
Will all my idiot lights, tach and cruise control still work?
PS: I called Proffitt's in Utah about having them do a conversion for me and didn't even get a call back... WTF? Business must be good I guess.

sounds like you should give Torfab a call. I also know Iron Pig will do a swap like this on the east coast, but that is probably too far to drive or ship for you. Slee did my 2UZ conversion into an 80 in Colorado- he might be another alternative for a diesel swap into your 80.

Our current wait time for a swap is over a year unfortunately. I hope to halve that time soon but getting there has not been easy.
