1999 Toyota 4 runner transfer case help

I’m doing dual transfers in my 88 mini. I have a buddy with a 1999 Toyota 4Runner 2.7 liter 5-speed parts rig .My question is I have a 21 spline top loader in it now . Will the 4Runner transfer work behind it. Is it a gear driven or chain? And what spline count should it be. Thanks

The Taco transfer case is chain drive. So, no. At least, that is my gut since I believe an adapter is required to run a crawler box behind a W59 tranny.
