Start the car, it would run for a couple seconds and then dies out. Sometimes it just cranks and takes multiple tries to start it. Immobilizer light goes out when I put key in.

We replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, the throttle position sensor where the cable goes into AND the other throttle position sensor that’s near the IAC motor. We pumped out all the gas and put in new gas along with some chevron fuel system cleaner. We cleaned the throttle body, the MAF, and it still does the same thing
☹️

Once in a while, it will start up and run for like 10 minutes and then it dies. This was a new thing after replacing the throttle position sensor near the IAC motor. If I start it and give it gas, it will stay running, let go of the gas and the RPMs fall and it bogs out or dies instantly.

Now a new thing popped up. Check engine code P1129. Press the gas pedal and it wouldnt respond but the car stayed running for a long time again. Then it died. Start it again and now the gas pedal responds but car died within seconds.

We checked the EFI relay and the 20a fuse near it. Both are good.

What should I look at next? Thanks!

Have you tried using the troubleshooting matrix in the FSM?

No, where can I find the FSM?
It's in the Resources section. I put a couple of additional docs in there for you. The EWD and New Car Features are nice to have. The Collision Repair Manual (CR02X) in that same area is valid for all 100/LX470 models.

Be aware the FSM is very large (2,244 pages, 20MB). Take a minute to look at the bookmarked sections; there is very useful information in there.

There is also a Wiring Harness Repair Manual, in the 80 series section that you can use for your truck.

LMK if you have trouble downloading the FSM; I can break it up for you. I didn't have the time to fully bookmark the FSM, but I have the bookmarks in a set that I can upload into an update, if you think that would be useful. The bookmarks aren't for every section of the manual, just for the major sections (engine, transmission, etc.) but it's a really big file and splitting the whole thing up into chapters was helpful for me.

The best place to start is in the Diagnostics section (DI-1 through DI-829) (I said it was big; and that's only the troubleshooting section). The pdf is searchable; use CTRL+F to enter a keyword or phrase and walk through the file until you find what you want. If you have a generic problem, you may or may not find it, because the DI section is very specific. However, in your case, try searching for "does not start", and you'll get this:

If you're familiar with searching pdf files, you'll be off from there. If not, every time you hit enter, you'll go to the next occurrence of your search term.

Once you find a section describing your problem, search for pages DI-xxx and read through the flowchart. The original TIS file was hyperlinked, but the pdf didn't retain that. :(

Thank you. I’ll take a look at it once I get to a computer. Appreciate it.
