Finally got around to posting up a build thread on ih8mud. Recently bought a 98 tlc with 186k. Sold my dead stock 95 Tacoma 4x4 for 8800 and picked up the cruiser for 8500

This is what it looked like when I picked it up:o

Replaced rims with tundra steelies and removed running boards:wrench:

Soon to come mods:
Tbar crank to level/ alignment
33" MT or AT
Timing belt maint.
Fluid flush
Sliders
Rear bumper
Paint wheels black

Your car just called, it said "lift me".

It called again. There was heavy breathing and something about big tires.

Nice rig.

I plan on doing the t-bar crank until I can get an ome lift....the rear has 4 rims and tires in the back so its sagging a little. as far as tires I am looking to get 33" MTs. Thank you though!

The black wheels were cheesy American Racing wheels with hankook tires. I agree they do look pretty good in the pictures, but since I work at Toyota I was able to get these wheels with brand new Michelin tires for free as we scrap all the tundra steelies and the tires usually just dry up and get thrown away. I plan to plastidip these wheels black ASAP!

That seems like a pretty awesome deal - I take it that wasn't public pricing?

Good luck with the build!

I sold my truck and bought this on Craigslist here in Washington. It had been passed down to a family's son and he decided to go backpacking around the world and just needed the cash. The rims have been slowly growing on me I just need to find the time to paint them!

Hmmm, is that common practice at other Toyota dealerships...

I have no idea about other dealerships...Also don't know how that would work for a non-employee either since they are pull offs when we get tundras in that upgrade wheels/tires. I'm hoping to get at least one more for a spare. We have about 7 full sets just waiting to get scrapped.

Wow, interesting bit of knowledge there. Ask your dealership if they could distribute the rims somehow...to MUDDERS??

Great deal on your rig BTW.
