The time has come to list my 1997 FZJ80. Sad to do so but we are going down to one car / relocating. All I’ve driven is 80 series trucks. I thoroughly enjoy these trucks and know them quite well.
This model is a 1997, triple locked, and TRD/Kazuma supercharged. I am the second owner in Canada and I purchased it off my good friend who imported it from Colorado.
The head gasket was done with no expense spared about 15,000km ago. All OEM parts; Brand new head, new valves, valve spring, etc. I have a full write-up on the forums about this project.
I keep all receipts for the large amount of work done on the truck and parts purchased for it. The truck will come with a plethora of spare parts and a folder with all the maintenance and part receipts in it. Brakes replaced, tie rod ends, all new suspension bushings, etc… Full axle rebuild kit with bearings in box (has been done once already however passenger side is weeping a little) spare burfield, axle flanges, switches, etc
Like all other old land cruiser adds state, they’re over 20 years old and with that comes little gimmicks. The mirror shakes on the drivers side and would fare well with the Wits end fix. The sun visor sometimes droops, etc. (if you are serious I will give you a full rundown on the truck), there is some minor rust above the windshield (I had the windshield changed last summer 2022 and there is not rot at all just surface rust), small dent on passenger side from a high lift jack falling over, and small dents on tailgate. The frame is solid there is no rot anywhere, I undercoat the truck every year and it rarely gets driven in the winter and I work out of area for 6 months every winter.
Truck will come with the custom drawers and side panels for those, it has a really nice 12v accessory wiring system that I have the schematics for with a dedicated breaker and solenoid for the other half the bank that is on switched power. It has an aftermarket stereo with apple carplay and all the new bells and whistles. JDM cup holder and passenger dash handle bar as my wife is quite short.
It sits on a slee 4 inch lift kit with the castor plates and a double cardian drive shaft. Custom rear bumper with swing out full size tire carrier, and hi-lift mount. ARB front winch bumper (no winch installed), slee offroad sliders, almost new 35s from goodyear (duratrac no studs), roof top tent rack. (will not come with RTT or VHF radio)
It passed an out of province inspection July 2022 (registered in BC), with a brand new windshield installed at the time. It currently will need a new y-pipe as it has a slight leak / crack (maybe could just be welded? But I haven’t really inspected)
