Told a friend I would throw this up for her whose husband frequented ‘mud, but passed away. He had 2 cruisers--a 40 and an 80 and she has decided to sell the 80 instead of the 40. See post:

Specs below:

1997 LX450. She is the second owner, and bought it in CA. 136,000 miles no lockers, but 7-pin mod is there. Everything works and the leather is in good condition for its age. Body/paint is in good condition also—see pics. New tires 10,000 miles ago and new battery last month. Endura “GT” waterproof covers and Husky Liners throughout also available. Any maintenance records? Any known issues? I saw a mention in a previous post by the owner of brake problems when it's cold outside...any news on that?

I'm a little new to these rides... I saw the pictures of the knuckles on Photobucket. How do those birfs look? I'm no expert.

No maintence records, but the guy was pretty anal with his '40, so I am sure this truck had the same attention from what I can tell. No obvious issues as I had another local 'mud guy give it the once over. Knuckles look good--no leaking or birf soup. I am unsure of brake issue as I never drove it in the winter. I know mine has not had that issue...

Frankly- Price police would be nice in the classifieds section. The mods should consider having a pricing FAQ thats updated with current selling prices to give people a ballpark of what to expect vs. having threads that take 14mo. to whittle their way down to "realistic" market prices.

Something with Price/ location/ condition ratings

I know a few other forums that post a condition scale from 1-10 to simplify and recent selling prices in a variety of areas. Would save people alot of research---and more importantly help alot of the lazy people who dont bother to "know" or "Find out" what the current market is doing.

Oh yes, because being forced to read someone's ad at a price we may disagree with is such a burden. Give it a rest. If it doesn't sell then he'll adjust the price or keep it. That pesky free market is such a bother....

That's a fair price. It isn't a 'smoking deal', but it's low miles and clean. I've seen stock 80s w no lockers, higher miles, and not as clean sell for 9k, and this was within the past 6 months. So like I said. It's fair. No one is being ripped off in this sale at this price; of course unless there's hidden secrets about the rig, which is highly unlikely..

I test drove this truck last week and it is extremely clean and in fantastic condition for the age. It ran and drove great! I definitely think it is a fair deal in this part of the country where clean, non-rusty, "low mileage" FZJ's are pretty much nonexistent.

The price doesnt bother me, its a clean rig. Im just saying a $200 price drop doesnt seem like much in the car world. Just my .02 cents and it takes just as long for the 4 of you peanut gallery folk crybaby to join in.

I keep in contact w the guy I sold my 80 to.. He's yet to join mud. I almost want to show up to his house w my laptop one day and watch him register.
