what do ya'll think this thing is worth:

97 LX 450
111k miles
no paintwork
gold/ivory leather
good service history, 90k done at dealer
all options but no locker
overall nice condition

thanks for your insight, hopefully it won't get blown away in the hurricane and will be available when this crap is over with,

A year ago I would have said 14-16k - I've been seeing them from 11.5-13.5K with and w/o lockers here in Texas lately. If you're willing to drive to Dallas/Houston you'll see quite a few -

Agreed, those are the two markets I watched for about 3 months. Bought a '97 Cruiser with everything except diff. locks for 12,975 drive out from a Houston dealer. It is exceptionally clean and had 108,000 miles on it. Not a speck of rust.
I was looking at three of them....all about the same, before making my decision.
Buying from an individual might save you even more.... but I would expect to see them
priced (in this area) as stated above. Good luck.

Maybe not a steal for the current market, but a steal in terms of value. If it's in good condition, you can not get more for your money than what these rigs are going for right now (IMHO).

well, the lx made it through the storm, a lot more than i can say for a lot of things around here. any more opinions about this one?

hold out and look for one with lockers!!!!!!!!!!

oh...and one more thing.

HOLD OUT FOR LOCKERS!!!

Kind of off topic but i found a 97 LX450 in the Denver area with 46,000 miles on it in show room condition, to get one with that low of miles would any of you guys pay the $20,000 sticker price, it's almost worth it to me to basically have a brand new truck, Brad.

It is worth $20,000 for only 46,000 miles.

I paid $18,000 for mine with 70k on the ticker. (wish I held out for lockers)

I saw that same truck but passed because no lockers

I got mine a '96 LX450 on 7-4-2004 for $17,200 with lockers and 34,000 miles! It took about four months of looking, but it was worth it, this one is very clean one owner Arizona truck, no rust.

Jeff,

>> all options but no locker <<

You will love the truck but you will hate yourself for not waiting for one with lockers.

46K miles,
$20,
not unreasonable,
but ask yourself what you will do with it. Lots of miles or not every year? How will that play wit the low mileage to start with, dilute it or keep it...?

Basically, I'd spend the extra $3K for much lower mileage myself. Less aggravation, less problem, you can catch things earlier (like the :censor: :censor: :censor: :censor: :censor: :censor: :censor: :censor: :censor: :censor: roof rack rust....

Just make sure it has lockers!!! :D

what exactly are the advantages of having lockers? i'd like to hear some opinions from both the locked and unlocked owners.

ps this probably won't see too many if any trails

Listen to everybody, I bought mine with no lockers and I regret it. The advantages are that it makes the car more valuable, and you feel better about your purchase IMO

Yep, no drawback at all (just finding them). Maybe you will find that you like trails.
