No, I just got confused when he said the system was all Toyota and I've been reading all the V8 swap threads the past few days. I couldn't remember if that conversation was from this thread or a different one. I've also been doing a lot of reading on LS swaps in general and more specifically how to make the GM PCM recognize the request for AC and idle up the engine automatically. That function of the GM PCM seems to center around the sensor that was originally located in the port I was asking about. So long as the weather cooperates my swap starts next weekend, so please forgive me for being overly inquisitive Rockjock.
no worries feel free to PM or post any questions

Have you done any ls3/ 6speeds? How durable is that 6speed?
Not yet waiting for someone to setup up to the plate. The transmissions are strong, they handle 400+hp all day :)

That's what my swap will consist of, L92(truck LS3) and a 6L80 mated to a stock transfer case. I will start a build thread soon.
L92 is a bad mamajama plus the 6spd is cool. Hard to find those setups under 9-10k....

I paid just over 4k for mine as a complete takeout with harness, computer etc. It's out of a 2008 Escalade with 38k miles. I used to be able to get more around that price, but I think the guy retired and moved to Florida.

Hook me up with that source!

There is a way to accomplish this. I started a thread on doing this but just never got back around to finishing the job. Essentially one needs an a/c control panel from a truck and the pressure sensors on the a/c lines. Some wires to power the panel and tap into the communications circuit will get the PCM to ramp up the idle a little. The setting can be adjusted using HP tuners and it's also possible to activate the electric fans (if equipped) with the ac request. the PCM will compensate on it's own, but there is a dip in idle speed for a few seconds when the compressor is requested on. having the a/c panel in the circuit will have the PCM compensate the idle right when the compressor is requested on so there is no dip in idle.

here's the thread i started:

Which wiring harness is used to power the fuel pump? The stock Toyota harness or run a wire from the gm harness?

Still waiting on the radiator from Steel Nutz ... I think the are creating the alloy to make the radiator lol... The PSI harness I use can run the fuel pump but I retain the factory wiring to fuel it.

I see. Is the started also hooked up using the Toyota harness?
Yes the key'd Toyota side is wired to the starter for starting.

Spoke with Mike from Steel Nutz on Friday he is supposed to square out the logistics on the radiator setup this week... I have my fingers crossed I can get the radiator next week and fire this beast up already. Stay tuned.....

Some news.. Radiator is expected to ship out monday...
