So Teghogh that posted other Land Cruisers from Pennsylvania on my 'For Sale' post never came out to see Big Blue... even though he is local and was seemingly negotiating sight unseen by comparing to other Land Cruisers that are not local. He never contacted me direct.
Strange.

I guess some people think all Cruisers are treated equally from the time they roll off the assembly line and should be the exact price whether they spent 25 years in Pennsylvania, California or have been wheeled.

Not trying to waste your time. That’s all. Your price is not realistic given the miles , lack of documentation, and not being 3x locked. Best of luck with your sale

People on this site low ball. I had one guy from this site meet me up to check out my green 94 80 series. I cut him a great deal because I was leaving the country for a while and the money would have been nice to have. told him multiple times that I will not sell it for a dollar less. He verbally agreed to my price and said he would meet me the next morning for payment because the banks were closed when we met. He also requested that I remove the third row seats because he didn’t know how to do it himself. I spent the time to remove the rear seats and the next morning he told me he wanted $800 off because the driver seat belt was starting to fray. What a waste of time. you might remember when I tried to sell my white HJZ73 on here as well.

I think you are better off selling on BAT or putting a for sale sign on it and parking it in a wealthy area. also, just my opinion but it would look cleaner with that rear quarter panel decals removed.

Worst case scenario, you keep it and enjoy it until the value goes up to match your expectation.

Documentstion? I have carfax available for interested parties and receipts for 4k of recent work (mentioned in listing) along with full 32 minute walk around video.
Your comments are sight unseen even though you can easily see it as you are local. I understand this is your first Land Cruiser. You are not shopping for a 2016 Camry, where pricing is within a tight band. This is for Land Cruiser where some have seen harsher environments than others.
Good luck with your search.
You should go on BaT too.
That way you can comment and debate why the prices are what they are on differenLaauction listings.

I don’t think 20k for this truck is considered lowball.
20k not a lowball on a 30k rig?
Damn, are we on Craigslist here or Offerup? lol

Ok a little 101 on car buying for you:
Rule of thumb, if you want to negotiate more than 10% off the persons price, then you are shopping outside your budget.
Definitely go see vehicles that are within 10% of your budget, as you can likely negotiate a bit and maybe discover why the vehicle is worth the asking price.

In this case, you obviously like the vehicle but it's outside your budget, and instead of moving on, you ask why it isn't priced same as some East Coast Salt belt models, or a rock crawled west coast example. Sorry you are frustrated. I have been driving 80 series since my first one in 1995. I know these Rigs. This one is 30k all day long, to the right buyer.
Like I said, if you want a 20k 80 series, I have a few I have personally went to look at, which are still available that did not meet my strict criteria. Just shoot me a DM.

Fair enough but the respectful thing to do though is to privately message him and respectfully throw out your offer. otherwise if you like the prices on the others you posted, go ahead and look at buying those and ignore this members ad.
Thanks TurbodreamZ.
Some people just learn the hard way on 80 series. My advice to them is to go spend a day and see 3 to 5 of them. And then they will see the differences. I have seen 250k models drive better than 160k mile models, and vice versa..

I have a HZJ73 too.. Love it.
I traded a FJ40 for it, added 5k and paid the shipping for both. That put the value of the HZJ73 at 35k. This was right at the beginning of Covid. Yes, there were other 73s out there at 15k to 20k, but this one was different, excellent condition, clean. SOA on 37s, VX model FRP top and Factory roll cage. It is likely worth 40-45k.
Not that I am selling it, but if I did, likely would be 42k, and I am sure Teghog would comment why it isn't 20k like others he sees.

What a crock of BS .. how about you post what you paid for it as I am betting it was less than 10% back from your asking price .. Not wanting to pay what is WELL above current going rate does not mean its out of your budget it just means that they don't want to put their money in your pocket. I have watched some of your videos and while you may well be a Landcruiser enthusiasts you show your knowledge to be far below that where you get to set the market rate and largely seem to talk up your future sales.

If your gunna flip trucks then good on you, it's a fun hobby but call it out for what it is you ain't doing it for free, you find nice trucks and buff them up well and try to turn a profit , telling guys who offer you fair market rates for an open diff 200K multi owner truck they are out of their budget and preaching down to them cause you had an 80 series in 95 is just gunna piss people off.

I have to say you are the first LandCruiser guy I have ever seen on Mud who tried to grasp some credibility for a sale by telling us you had 21k Followers .. I wonder how many that Bud light Trans had and look how that turn out for Bud Light ...... the world has gone crazy ......

Bud Light Trans? Wow.
So you basically call those who are interested in Land Cruisers Bud Light drinkers?
What does that even mean?
In your eyes, intended as an insult.

Be a man.
Obviously you are influenced by others and media. Seriously, those who drank Bud Light and stopped because of 1 executive thought it was a good idea to try to break into a new market segment, means you are weak and succumb to pressure of others. Funny thing is, those folks switched to Michelob, which is owned by the same company.
A real man with confidence, who drank Bud Light, would continue to do so regardless of the peer pressures.
Thanks for the hilarious post Bro!

i would like to quote the dude that got beat up in the 80's....

Can we keep this site to productive, helpful conversations about Land Cruisers? Take your measuring contests elsewhere.
Agreed. Thank you.
Let's keep the offers to DMs as it should be, and those who are not interested in buying it, to resist the urge to comment.to vent their frustrations on the 80 market.

Nothing I wrote was intended as an insult and if you don't see the irony of a grown ass man telling others his stuff is out of their budget and posting a list of his social media followers as proof of his creditability and knowledge then I guess my humor was wasted on you.

I just don't see why you don't own up to being a flipper and try and play yourself as some sort of Landcruiser whisperer, I could be wrong as my Google Foo isn't real special but it looks to me like every thread you have ever started on MUD is a For Sale and most of your posts are either pimping ya stuff of stroking your social media empirer .. why not just own the fact you are in the game to flip and make $$$ ???

When somebody says not meant as insult and says grown ass man in same sentence.. lol
classic.
Read the whole post, so you don't sound obtuse. Already mentioned that I have 3 80s, and love them.
Are you making an offer?
No. so why you impulsed to throw shade on my post?
I see you have tons of comments.
In fact tons of comments on For Sale posts, yet you are not a buyer on any of these. You vent your frustration on others posts obviously.
I think you need to get in your friend's Land Cruiser and enjoy some outdoors instead of trolling my For Sale post.

Lol not sure why you think I’m frustrated or need car buying 101 from you or this rig being out of my budget. I have been nothing but respectful here. You asked to provide comparable I did but but it wasn’t to your liking then you some how claim I made a promise to come see your truck which you apparently have a Nick name for and got annoyed when I didn’t as your asking is not within the reasonable ballpark I can assure you my current car collection is worth 10x your asking price. I buy them at fair market value not 50 percent above. I again wish you the best of luck on your sale and hope you can move on and find a buyer for your asking. Thanks
