Trying to decide what to do..
I have a locked '96 80, with 235k (mostly highway) miles on it, that has a long list of problems.

I have the opportunity to buy a 94 (no lockers) with 115k miles on it for $5200. The vehicle was a confiscated police vehicle and has been used by the dept as an undercover vehicle for the last 10 years or so.

Anyway, I like the idea of having lockers but the reality is that I've never actually needed to use them. I use the truck to pull a boat and for camping trips and weekend driving. Probably for $3-4k I could have my 80 mostly fixed up.. but I'd still have a rig with 235k miles on it and counting.

Anyway.. trying to decide whether a rig with only 115k miles on it is too good to pass up. I haven't had a chance to really check out the 94, other than a visual inspection of the exterior. Looks to be in pretty good shape minus the paint which is fading. But assuming it's in good shape..

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I had thought of maybe swapping the axles as well..

Any of you guys that watch the cruiser market closely.. how does that price sound?

The price seems a bit steep to me.

Never mind I take back my first comment and agree before my axle falls off the back of my truck.

the low mile 94 might need a ton of work also........who knows.

Yep- cops tend to brutalize any vehicle they get into. Lowball, methinks.
