To bad it didn't have the rare brown interior we saw last week.

Pretty sure the light switch beside the dash dimmer is to turn on the rare, optional, "invisible turbo charger" :D

I like those special Good Ridge tires......It will make it go where most Landcruisers can't go.

Incorrect.

It's the rare Rally Switch.

One of the only 80's i've seen W/O a CD player and 7 speaker set up.

It can go were most landcruiser can't!:pThats funny!!Maybe some of us should tell him about our rigs!I can't believe some people!!!

One of ten??? Where are the other nine??? My mom used to say: drugs are bad for you!;) Didn't see price, must be very expensive specially with the custom rally edition tire jack!!!:lol::lol:

Has anyone else seen one without a sunroof? This is the first i've seen.

Mine is a '95 poverty pack edition, cloth seats, no 3rd seat, no rear slider windows, and no sunroof.

Cliff Claven factoid, turns out that with no 3rd row seat option, the floor pan is different and you can't simply "add" a factory 3rd row seat!

A few other small differences as well make it a little bit unique.

Dan.

Wow. maybe mine is one of the rare 10 in the US. It did come from California, it has the very rare two tone silver and red color, grey cloth interior, lockers front and rear, but it did not have the CDL until I put it in(maybe I got a better deal:D).
Does it go where most do not go, well the driver does make the difference:steer:(maybe the lift and suspension and other goodies).
Is it rare, yes in many way. No sunroof, cloth interior, two tone exterior, but the lack of locker makes it a little less. I did not look, does it have ABS and a rear full floater?
It sounds like the early 80 series with drum brakes in the rear, so no ABS and No lockers front and rear with this combo. (sounds like the 91-92 combo with center diff lock switch installed from the factory).
So It is truly rare in the sense that (At least in the USA, if the above is correct) that it is a blend between the early 80 series and the later series(1fz trans, 442 trans, rear drum brakes, no viscous coulper in the t-case).
But is it a rally edition, that is a new one. Is it worth 4500. only you or any one that buys it will decide that.
But it is a cool truck in the sense is (my guess) it is a blend between what we have in the state and what the poverty pack is in the other parts of the world (minus the auto trans).
Funny the reactions of some of the guys on the forum.

Looks like a standard Aussie spec 93-94 GXL without the rear seats to me.
Our pov packs are barn door with vinyl seals and floors, manual box and 7.50x16 pizza cutters on split rims, and a part time transfer. Air con is an option.

The GXLs get electric windows, cloth seats, some opening rear windows, but not on mine;p, full time transfer and a CDL switch and 275/70x16 on 8" steel rims. Air con still still an option.

Don't get the auto aerial up and down button til you go to the VX model - then it's all leather and sweaty bottoms with fake wood trim.

Mine has no sunroof and no 7 speakers but has headlight washers. Anybody no if the wiring for the sunroom light is in the model with no sunroof like the one pictured above. Maybe mine is one of the ten.

Wow, I need to go to bed. I didn't even see that there was a 2nd page to the thread.

yep, the AC is on....

Hmmm, that still seems a bit high for idling in park with the A/C on. I forget exactly where mine idles at, but it's under 1000, I think.

Jon

Ha! You beat me to it. I was just gonna post that until I got to the bottom.

This truck probably has some issues...

Jon

why would you assume that the truck has issues? my 93 with the ac on and just starting would idle at that speed for just a little bit then come down quickly. definitely long enough to jump in the truck, turn key, snap picture and then see the idle come down.

Why do you think the AC is on? The AC button is not lit up.

i thought because my little ac light is burned out, that everyone's should be....
i saw the fan speed light, and vent location light and just assumed the ac is on. maybe the truck is screwed, i don't know.

It's a possibility. It's also a possibility that there's something else going on, maybe a vacuum leak that the ECU is advancing the idle trying to compensate for. Maybe he snapped the pic right after starting and got the brief fast idle. Maybe that's how he gets his extra 20 HP. Maybe the uber rare 1 in 10 land cruisers idle at 1100 RPM because of their special engine. Who knows.....

With that ad and those claims, I wouldn't give him the benefit of the doubt.
