Two days ago our son had an accident with a Subaru that pulled out in front of him. Everyone is ok. The other car was driven by my son's friend, and for various reasons I'm exploring ways to minimize the expense to them. Exploring the idea of selling the vehicle rather than repairing it. Here are the specs on it:
- We owned the cruiser in England and imported it to the US. It has been our family car for 5-ish years
- Manual trans, triple factory locked, strong turbodiesel
- UK market vehicle. Speedo is in MPH
- About 170k miles on it
- We put $10k into it last year going through the driveline: diffs (front had a whine), birfs, etc. Have receipts
- Starts right up immediately. Uses almost no oil. A bit of diesel smoke.
- Surprisingly quick
- Clean Utah title
- The wreck will require front quarter panels left and right, probably rad support, and possibly inner fenders. Don't believe there's any frame damage. Doors are just fine. I drove it in my neighborhood and it drives straight with no pull either way. I have a red hood.
