I am buying a 92 land cruiser vx with a blown 1hd-t. I am a newbie to these vehicles so please excuse my ignorance. I am just trying to decide my best option for my money 4bt swap, 6bt swap, i have done a bit of research on the different engines would another 1hdt be a good option or is there another relatively easily swappable Toyota engine that would be a direct replacement

What exactly is wrong with the 1hd-t? It's a good engine that would be cheaper to fix than doing an engine swap.

not exactly sure of the engine issues, but the guy i am getting it from said he had a Toyota mechanic look at it and he said it would be cheaper to replace it then repair it

apparently the timing gears broke and some valves got bent, does anyone know if they are an interference engine or not
