Yes

I disagree.

I’d be interested in seeing documentation of this.

HZJ73 was 1/1990 forward.

HZJ73’s came with drums or disc brake rear depending on market specification.

But I have never seen an HZJ73 with drum brake system in the front.

After 1990, only base-model diesel/petrol GCC/GEN/ARL market 7x iterations came with front drum brake systems.

HZJ73 has always been an “up-market” design specification.

This x 2 , I don’t think any hzj73’s came with front drums . Some of the other 7x hzj models though did come in base version with front drums usually also equipped with a 4 speed and no power steering .

Some HZJ model came with 4 speed? Wow....wouldn't want one of those.

I've seen the large drums on other +1/90 70-series so I figured it wasn't out of the question. Either way the parts would be the same, and as expected the follow up question is switching to discs. :meh:

My experience has been that every Gen. Market vehicle I've worked on has had had something wrong done to it...

Thanks all for the replies, I was a little surprised to think there was a possibility this prospective vehicle could have front drums on a '92! I will investigate further on my end with the current owner. On a side note, in the CarVX I pulled what exactly does the below mean referencing the pressure control?

MANUFACTURER RECALL HISTORY

Pressure

transmission
section
In a diesel engine vehicle, there is something improper of
processing a negative pressure to the vacuum pump of the
blade (feathers) holding groove of the rotor supplied to the
brake booster, Continued use in this state, and carbon steel
blade There is wear, in the worst case, can no longer be
corrupted negative pressure occurs, there is a possibility
that the effectiveness of the brakes is poor in normal pedal

That recall message seems to appear on every JDM 70 series carvx report. I wouldn't worry about it. It is on two different ones I have which are for JDM vehicles 3 years apart.
