I am pretty sure it was 93 that was non electronic but from what I have heard it is not too difficult to convert the newer ones to mechanical.Howdy! I have been interested in the 6.5 for a long time. Yes, the very first year, 94?, had non-computerized setups. I almost bought one with an NV 4500and brand new clutch. I wanted to drop it into my Piggy. John
I owe you a video, but WOW! All I have to say is that it's a big surprise to hear the wheels squeal when you get on the gas in a cruiser. It's got PLENTY of power, and stops on a dime with the hydroboost brakes. It's reasonably quiet inside, and the ride is nice. I will need to give it a 2" lift for clearance issues, but that's all part of a good cruiser anyways.
For my conversion I found a Hydroboost conversion kit which came with various linkages, fittings etc. The master actually bolted to the firewall, it was pretty easy. How did you modify the gm master to work with the Toyota mounts/linkages?
Im in the slow process of gathering all my stuff for the change,
one question for the experienced. If you dont mind. 99' 6.5 block(newer of the blocks, better cooling and stuff) , with 6.2 mechanical injection turned up for the sidewinder banks and the
banks turbo. will the injection pump and injectors handle sthe small increase in displacement.
