Imported JDM model. Titled and registered in New Mexico. This particular one is in above average mechanical condition as it has been maintained well during its easy life on the streets in japan and not abused off road. Most imported vehicles have not been maintained this well. The interior is in nice condition. The AC even does a fine job as well as the sun roof.

Recently replaced parts (under 1,000 miles ago)

-31x10.5 BFgoodrich TA/KO 2
-Complete front axle rebuild. (new brakes, wheel and knuckle bearings, repacked Birfield, new seals)
-ACL rod bearings and new genuine Toyota rod bolts installed (original bolts and bearings in console)
-New air filter
-New Fuel filter
-New Batteries
-Oil changed to full synthetic Rotella T6 and new Donaldson filter (premium)
-Intake and Exhaust valves adjusted to spec (only a few tight)
-New Water pump
-New timing belt and tensioner
-driveshaft and joints lubed
-glow plug checked for ohms and voltage checked to plugs
-catch can
-JASMA stainless steel exhaust (came on vehicle so no idea of mileage but good shape)

Issues
-Has a few flaws cosmetically paint wise but is still very good looking. Gets complements frequently.
-Radio only works to 90 hertz (I guess the Japanese only use from 78-90.)
-An extremely small amount of rust on the undercarriage but mostly in amazing shape due to the frequent undercoating that the previous owner did. Much better than most i've seen. (see pictures)

Its an great vehicle in great shape for its age. Sorry to see it go. Having to sell some toys and unfortunately this is one of them. Located in Las Cruces NM. These usually retail for no less than 17k imported in lesser shape (old tires, hard offroading life, plenty of rust). Asking 16,750 OBO

Have the big end bearings been done?

Only center diff lock. Intentionally chose one without and was going to go the ARB route. I had read a horror story (here I think) about the axle breaking off in housing and it being a real issue to get out (had to cut it out?) where as the ARB wasn't nearly as hard to repair. I think they also said the ARB was stronger and faster to engage/disengage.

Yes. With ACL bearings and new Toyota bolts to be done right.
Thanks, I should have read closer first time :)

Does it have cruise control?

I didn't even notice but no it doesn't have cruise control. I actually have one more HDJ81 that has most options including the console refrigeration unit minus lockers. Not looking to sell it yet but might have to. Its pretty Japanese thug...

Oh. Also had the compression with engine tested cold. Every cylinder mustered between 435 and 450PSI. We are at ~4,500 feet of elevation.

Updated the photo gallery to show the engine bay, cargo area and vehicle at hwy speed for interested parties.

Yes still available. Thinking about a couple offers. A couple of things were brought to my attention about the vehicle that were both good and bad. I'll be dropping my price a bit to reflect that and updating the gallery. Had some rust I had not seen behind the front wheels. Evidently the engine feels strong and perhaps turned up a bit even when compared to a manual HDJ. Basically its a pretty good looking vehicle that you wont be afraid of actually using that you can get at a good price.

Updated the gallery to show the areas. Little spot in the passenger side but the driver side should be addressed. Price dropped to 15,500. Open to offers excluding the tires/wheels as well.

Had a couple requests for a video of the vehicle running. Sorry for the delay:

It should also be noted that this is titled and registered in New Mexico so you wont have to deal with EPA and DOT filings unlike ones that haven't been imported into the US yet as well as taking your chances at the DMV getting one registered. I costs a lot of money to make sure its totally legal, registered and insured. You can literally drive this vehicle home and not be worried about getting pulled over. There is a reason why the legally imported and registered cruisers are priced higher... It isn't a fast or cheap process unfortunatly.

It looks like I just purchased a house and will need this sold for a down payment so its time to cut my losses. Open to trades with cash included as well.

Thanks
