I finally gave up trying to buy a new car, because nothing compared to my 1993 for reasonable coin. So, after Texican replaced my power steering pump, and I had some gaskets replaced to stem the oil leaks, I got my seats rehabbed.
Gary (Powerplay) gave me a seat he did not need some years ago, so the back of it (passenger front) was fine. Seat bottom suffered with water and sun damage. I had a shop re-manufacture the front two seat bottoms and driver's seat back, and the center armrest top. I had them do it in vinyl, and it looks stock. Leather would be about twice as much and could not look better. Straight stitching too.
Cost was about $611 for the three seat sections - I am good for another fifteen years. Those things are an engineering challenge, with loops, wire support and suspension connectors, three or four different types of padding. Not for an amateur like me, for sure.
