Forgive the feeler, but the situation demands it i guess. originally posted back in October as a project needing completion and quickly taken down after inquiries built up, most notably Snake Farm Shawn, who patiently waited while I got closer to completion only to have his own dilemma last minute, truck may be sold locally but family needs demand I cover bases and Mud is the place,
seeing all the posts about bone stock white 62's WTB or other similar, i figured this needed to be out there if even briefly for interest sake.
it is a unique deal as the truck is still not quite finished but so very close, detailed list of work to be completed can be emailed if you PM me as well as possible options for sale or trade.
due to the nature of this situation, local buyer would be great.
i would call it a project that didn't need to happen but did then stalled then happened then stalled as life called,
truck was perfect and a daily driver of my collection when i started this project, nothing was needed but i began cleaning and taking off brackets and things to repaint or powder and eventually ended up with a project. long story short she is ready to have another owner and one that appreciates detail maybe, ideally i guess.
1989 fj62 original white stock with a few exceptions and all are creature comforts, nothing engine related or mechanical is non stock.
164,000 i am second owner, and this was one of my best finds.
interior has been modified with the interior out of a 97 FZJ80 in grey leather, front seats are 80 seats and power seats,i liked the beefier seats and setup of an 80 so i tried it,rear bench works exactly as original just has the rear leather from same grey 80, as a note original front seats are perfect and come with truck as does the rear seat covering in case pure stock is desired,
soundproofing in entire tub two layers makes it ride like a tank, added custom door jamb welting as stock but with ¼ neoprene bulb bead to decrease wind noise and make cabin quiet along with sound proofing, original welting included as well.
headliner is perfect as well as all interior dash perfect no dash cracks truck has been stored inside her whole life, dash actually feels spongy which is weird given all the dashes we have seen hardened and cracking or ready to crack.
factory head unit and power doors windows etc.
with exception of the 97 interior it is bone stock look inside
exterior is same with exception of custom rear bumper i designed and made to match an ARB front bar and Safari rack that truck had, front bumper is original chrome as shown, i do not have the original rear
all five wheels are chrome in great shape, body has had no wrecks and is great shape with exception of small ding in passenger door
now the project that went to far in detail but hopefully will show now....
interior dash taken down cleaned sealed all plastic and seals replaced all duct work replaced as stock with neoprene gaskets or felt to decrease dust, blower motors all rebuilt or severely cleaned, all dash gaps sealed and sound proofed for rattles and wind noise ac blows cold everything works inside as it should.
engine bay all brackets, clamps bolts and items with exception of actual block, were removed, cleaned thoroughly, reconditioned & repainted, replated, replaced or otherwise made to look new,
all yellow zinc was replated to shine like in 1989, not painted but replated in Yellow Zinc no oxidation anymore...hoses replaced or reconditioned to look new, new belts, new clamps from 89 toyota stock, radiator acid bathed pressure tested and refinished, injectors cleaned, all efi components tested or replaced all vacuum hoses will be new, new dist cap, wires plugs, all gaskets replaced and new fluids throughout. detailed pics of each part and process if needed, ac compressor tested and new fittings thermocouple etc, new condenser up front , blower rebuilt as new and intake refinished was well as exhaust manifolds new gaskets there also both machined to fit perfect, no exhaust leaks when finished. new exhaust was replaced prior to project
engine brackets and PS pump and anything you can see with hood up was refinished or powder coated and colors are stock, i wanted it to look like a new one but there was no need to replace anything as it worked flawlessly so i went overboard. all pulleys and fan clutch and tensioner bolts and water intake housings etc. all refinished and replaced with fresh gaskets. smog pun rebuilt and still on vehicle as is all EGR and EFI components and ash can, etc
truck sits on almost new (1500 miles maybe) 33 10.50 BFG AT as most do, no lift but she actually seems to sit a bit higher than most i have seen, no sag whatsoever
truck does not have the ARB front or Safari rack as it did but I can add those if desired, i have located a set ripe for fresh powder coating, but the ones on her back then got put on another one of mine and sold to buddy who won't give it back.
i ideally would love to finish this for a buyer because it is so close but i also have other family needs that must be met so looking at a fellow mudder who wants to do the easy work himself and save some money, or wants to work with me to get a completed rig, i am not looking for high end as i might if finished and ready today. I estimate that with a deal in place i can have it ready within a couple weeks.
ill answer a few questions that i know will come up in interest of not wasting mud space too much more than i have...
"Why did you take it apart and what caused you to disassemble the engine components originally was there an issue?' NONE at all, i had a warehouse with a semi shop and was working on a couple other rest builds and i drove this in one day and started cleaning and removing brackets to pain faded areas, honestly the obsessive side of my LC brain just went nuts and its always easier to plan the teardown than the rebuild
it was my way of rebuilding something that didn't heed a rebuild and i loved it, this was not the only truck it happened too
"Was there anything wrong with truck before this?" nope as i said i had been loving it and driving it, just had all exhaust replaced prior to the project
"Why did project stall and why has it sat?" Sold company which had extra warehouse that became my shop and hideaway holding spot for LC's and other toys, had to let LC's go over time and this was one of two i swore i would never let go, the other being my 83 fj40 I got from my mate Josh Boltrek. family needs and life and all that overtook the wannabe LC builder.
It has been indoors stored with all parts intact ready to be finished and although it is so very close, immediate needs put me back here.
Please PM me if interested and we can keep details off here as much as possible. As I mentioned I may have it placed here locally but need a backup plan in case.
I am looking at an as is price for buyer to complete it with parts i have or list of smaller needed parts as well as a buyer who wants a completed ready to drive classic, with partial payment and full upon completion
i understand the value differences of finished vs unfinished as well as anyone so I am open to discussion.
I paid 13400 and i have done a lot of work to it although much is harder to value but it will hit someone well, i am not looking for more than that completed and less as is. I can not make more by completing it but I would like to be able to finish the project and am willing to work with buyer however that looks
title in had clean clear, southern car no rust exterior in great shape and waxes up nicely..any questions please let me know and Thanks for reading this dribble so far, its cathartic.....
and yes pictures many available if needed can't upload many here
