PRICE DROP

Up for sale is a very clean 1989 FJ62 in Champagne. The car drives great and starts up every time. It has a 2.5 inch OME lift and steering stabilizer. There is absolutely no rust on the body or frame and the interior is clean with a very small rip in the driver's seat. Dash is not cracked and a modern stereo with USB, bluetooth, etc. has been installed by the previous owner. 229,000 miles. Located in Los Angeles. I am only selling it because I have the bug bad but want better gas mileage and impulse-purchased a diesel.

The Good
  • Good, clean, straight body with only a couple of small dents.
  • NO RUST!
  • Nice stance on 2.5 inch lift with 32 BFG's.
  • Great, custom roof rack which allegedly was built at a cost of over $2k
  • Clean interior with only a small tear in the driver's seat.
  • Rebuilt transmission approx. 7k miles ago (previous owner but receipt is in the glovebox)
  • New battery, starter and alternator all within the past 6 months.
  • Modern Kenwood stereo with bluetooth, USB and aux outputs.
  • Various new seals from K&H to repair leaks at a cost of $1,300.
  • Replacement center console, not yet installed but would do so prior to purchase.
The Not So Good
  • Paint is faded, especially on the hood and roof.
  • Missing the cover for the fuses.
  • Small rip in driver's seat
  • Two smallish oil leaks despite the aforementioned $1,300 repair.
  • A couple of very small dents and various scratches.
  • Interior carpet looks to be an inferior replacement and has some rips in the trunk area but that is covered with rubber mats. Carpet looks great otherwise.
  • Salvage title but only damage was a broken axle.
I am representing this vehicle to the best of my abilities and am not a mechanic and just know it is fun to drive. I bought it due to a mid-life crisis and it has become my preferred vehicle. Let me know if you have any questions. I am thinking $9,000 $8500 based upon what I bought it for and the money put into i, I am still taking a several thousand dollar loss. I will knock $500 if I get to keep the roof rack. Open to offers but don't insult me.

I MIGHT be into this.

Where are the smallish leaks coming from?

When was it serviced at K&H?
Was it recent or years ago?

I took it in today to have the leaks looked at and will update. It is far from a major leak. I have owned the truck less than a year so the K&H service was while I owned it. Salvage title happened under previous ownership. Feel free to email with other questions or for more photos. jstrzel72 at gmail.com

I had a couple of engine seals replaced to stop the oil leaks which will allegedly fix the problems.

Nice looking truck.

Random question, but by any chance do you ride bikes with the Mudfoot/Golden Saddle guys?

I do. You are Tanner, I assume? I think we have met before. You are a runner also?

Thanks for not painting it. We can now see it with its original paint so no bondo was used on the body in the past. my bj60 frame and underbody is almost shot so looking for a rust free fj60 but preferably 62 to replace it.
