For sale is a very nice running & driving 1989 FJ62 Toyota Landcruiser.

I'm torn about selling because I've wanted this exact FJ for a l-o-n-g time but due to life's weird timing and circumstances it needs to go.

Price: $6,000
Year: 1989
Color: Beige Metallic
Make: Toyota
Model: FJ62 Landcruiser Wagon/SUV
Tranmission: Automatic/4x4
Mileage: 182,000

Very few of these trucks were made & shipped to the US. This automatic is a variant of the FJ60 series and was made & sold for only (3) years in the US (1988-1990).

These iconic trucks have a long history of reliability. They are also known for their off-road capabilities... I'm assuming you already know that. Please read below for the detailed disclaimer, both the good and bad.

The good:

Engine runs strong. Won't leave you stranded. A very cool around town daily driver.

Front locking hubs work well.

Automatic transmission and transfer case was replaced with a re-manufactured by previous owner, (4-spd w/OD) He drove it on weekends, tranny has less than 2k miles on it.

Heater blows hot. Air conditioning works, blows "cool" not cold could use coolant.

Tires have good tread left on them - lots of miles remaining. *Tires are Uniroyal AT's.

Interior is in beautiful shape, headliner is tight and it's been a non smoker vehicle.

Power everything - and it all works!

The bad:

It's not perfect - it's obviously had lots of time to pick up wear and tear but it's been taken care of and is in terrific shape for a 26 year old rig.

Body: no major dents and minimal rust spots. The few rusty spots are small and can easily be brought back. (1) spot on fender is rusted through (1) spot of clear is peeling.

At some point down the road the front axle seals will need to be replaced, nothing critical, the knuckles are holding grease. Not a big job, but a messy job.

Brake rotors need turning.

Power antenna motor works but the antenna mast is broken. Needs replacing.

Replacement master power lock and window switch in driver door is included. The window lock switch is broken on the original.

At some point XM satellite radio was installed (wrong), stereo and XM work but they must be wired to a hot lead; I pull the 10amp fuse when parked to prevent battery drain.

I'm sure there's more, both good and bad but this gives you a good idea of what I'm selling.
