Hj75

not sure about the 13 in NA comment.......there are many in the mines in Canada.

ya there are tonnes of 75, 78, 79. so many . they all get virtually destroyed. underground is very hard on them. Acid in the rocks leaks on them. workers stand on them. they hit walls in tight spots. mirrors get broken off. And they cost about 63,000 cad when new.

$11,500 seems to be a good price.

I've seen BJ75's going for close to $20,000 in the Toronto area.

Most of them are ex-mine trucks if they're native to Canada. If it's am import it could be from anywhere but Japan. I've seen trucks from Europe, but the pick up are expensive over there so they would be more here.

A 6 cyl diesel would make it an HJ series I think. Try this site for Toyota info.

By far the most in depth info on TLC's

or here http://www.off-road.com/tlc/body_styles/index.html

If the picture of the 75 in the Auto Trader is accurate and of the actual vehicle, then I would guess that it is either an ex-mine or a European import because of the LHD. In either case, I would be hard pressed to believe that it is "rust free" because of the conditions in the mine and in Europe. I've seen and heard of some pretty rusty Cruisers coming in from Europe.

You guys missed a couple of things...

In 1988 Canadian mine trucks were all powered by 3Bs (four cylender)
None of them came with factory beds.

At least these things are true in my version of reality.

I have never seen an HJ75 but that seems to be what they are advertising.

A few HJ75's are coming into Canada from elsewhere ... one might be going to San Diego soon.

But before TB asks, I know nothing ;)

Dave

Just for the record the one that might be coming to San Diego is NOT me ;p

But if the mystery person is on this forum and lives in San Diego please contact me, come check out West coast cruisers, we can use more 7x owners in the area, currently it is just me and one other person around southern California with 7x series.

Cheers,

Michael

Exact model is a PHZJ 75 i'd bet. We've got some in my chairlift company. Thoses are nice, thought, as every toy PU, not heavy enough!

Best regards.

Max.

PZJ or HZJ? neither were available in 88.

As for heavy, Ens solved that problem eh Wayne?

carry capacity on a mine truck is 6500 lbs NOT including the truck itself...
picture a 60 series turned sideways on the box and driving down the road...
cheers

Hi everybody!

Lowenbrau,sorry, it can't be a PHZJ 75, cos it's a four speed!

Well, the grille makes it an 85-89, so it's no PZ or HZ. FJ, HJ or BJ.

BTW a few of PZJ's did come with a 4 speed manual, the R141.
