Clean, strong running, well maintained HJ61 with all the options! Gets good gas mileage (22-24mpg) with lots of power from the 12HT factory Turbo Diesel. This truck turns eyes everywhere, and is a blast to drive! The body is straight, with only a couple small rust issues in the common spots on the inside fender-wells. Lots of detailed pictures available, just pm me with your info. Thanks for looking; any questions feel free to ask.

Was hoping to keep this rig to build for myself, but we are hoping to buy a house and need to come up with down $$$. I'm offering it up here on the 'Mud first, hoping it will go to a good deserving home!

Hi,

Could you send me more information and pictures. I am in Portland Oregon. I have a 85 rather set up 60 but really want this. I have the 5.3 Vortec with H55 and loads of other stuff. But for overland expedition this suits my needs much better.

My email is anthonywerre@gmail.com

Can you post some interior/frame shots? I'm fairly interested as well.

Thanks

For those of us who don't have a 60 Series background, can you post photos of the "common" rust areas associated with this model?
Thanks....

So here are a few more interior pics, and some answers to the questions posted above. Thanks

Clean Interior, The rear carpet was trashed, so I have a new piece being cut. As the brown shag that comes with these cruisers is mediocre at best, I am just matching it with some more brown shag! Under the deck is clean and fresh.

My wife is driving the rig today, so will have to get some frame/underside shots this weekend.

See next post below for the rust concerns. Thanks

So of the four Japanese HJ61's I've been involved with, three have had rust issues in the below pictured areas! I'm not sure if US spec versions have these same issues or not, as my FJ62 shows no signs of rust in this area and is the highest mileage truck in my fleet at the moment. That said, it was from Austin and is quite clean for a FJ62.

A little rust on the forward rear inner-fender wells, that also transfers through to the inside under the carpeting in some cases.

Any other HJ61 owners seen these same issues? Or is it just "Common" to the ones I have seen? Thanks

Did it see much time in Canada? My 62, after 10 years in Alaska, has zero rust in those areas, but my old BJ70 from Ontario looked very much the same in those spots.

I can post some pics tomorrow. Right now the underside is still full of ice from our drive back from Telluride yesterday. I'll wash it tomorrow and snap some photos.

Someone earlier asked about what kind of mileage this truck is getting.

On the Telluride trip last weekend we got 19.6mpg while in 4wd most of the drive, and loaded with gear and lots of warm up time due to the snowy cold temps! The tank before that we got 23.2 with mostly hwy, and some town driving.

The truck is running strong and I am quite pleased with the mileage so far!

My dream cruiser, and a great price. If I didn't just do a vortec swap I'd be all over this. Does it have split rear bench and third row seats? How hard is it to find parts for the 12ht these days?

For the record, I have sold this truck to a local buyer for my asking price of $14,500.

I really wanted to see where the eBay auction would have gone, but chose to end the auction early to keep the truck local!

Thanks to everyone for your interest and feedback. Cheers
