This is a very clean and well maintained LandCruiser with the original 2F, 4.2L, inline 6-cylinder engine. It has 241,XXX miles and is still running strong. 4WD and transfer case is all solid and working perfectly. It was restored and painted professionally in the original metallic, slate-blue color several years ago. It spent all but the past two years in Southern California and is nearly rust-free. There is one small spot of rust bubbling through the paint near the roof rail on the passenger side rear and one small scrape from a brush with the garage door near the passenger side tail light. Otherwise this truck is in near perfect condition for its age.
The paint shines quite nicely. It has the original chrome bumpers that are nice and shiny as well. There is no rot anywhere else on the body or frame. The fender lips and rocker panels have zero-rust. It is a super-solid rig.
The A/C, heat, lights, and all accessories work flawlessly. It has absolutely perfect, clean, stock, cloth seats with no stains, holes, or rips. The carpets are not perfect, but fairly clean for a truck of this age. The rear cargo area carpet has been replaced and it has newer aftermarket floor mats. The headliner is original and intact with no holes, rips, or stains. The dash has been covered by a nice perfectly fitted aftermarket plastic/vinyl cover and looks just like original with no cracks or sun damage.
The truck runs well and had a recent tune-up with new plugs, wires, distributor cap, fuel filter, and a new fuel pump. Performed regular oil changes with Valvoline synthetic-blend oil.
There are a number of other upgrades and details that make this truck pretty special:
• This truck has been retrofitted with the Toyota H55, 5-speed, manual, overdrive transmission – a vast improvement over the stock 4-speed. This makes it much more drivable on the highway and more capable off-road with the lower first gear.
• Rear disc-brake conversion using parts typical to these models with custom mounting brackets and GM calipers/pads from a 1979 Cadillac El Dorado. This type of caliper has a mechanical parking brake feature that allows you to use the stock parking brake lever and cable system.
• 4” suspension lift with Pro Comp shocks and steering stabilizer bar
• BF Goodrich 285/75/R16 All Terrain T/A side-wall armored tires mounted on 16” powder coated steel wheels with lots of tread left. The matching spare tire and wheel is mounted under the chassis in the rear and has a cable and keyed lock.
• Powder coated black nerf bars welded directly to the frame on both sides – no rust or scars on these either!
• Draw-tite trailer hitch with 3500 lb (ball-mount load) and 6000 lb (weight distributing) tow capacity.
• KC Daylighter, 6” Hi-Lites, chrome, off-road lights mounted through the front bumper wired to their own dashboard switch.
• Replacement front and rear lenses for the marker, tail, brake, and turn signals.
• Tuffy 8" Wide Stereo Security Center Console between front seats. Huge storage capacity in this locking console and an open slot for installing a CB or other radio.
• Dark tinted rear windows and polarized light tinting on driver/passenger windows and windshield.
• Professionally installed Alpine in-dash CD/DVD/GPS-NAV stereo system with a 7” motorized, retractable screen, (4) 6” speakers, a 10” subwoofer, two Alpine amps mounted under the rear bench seat, and a remote interface box mounted under the driver’s seat. It has multiple stereo auxiliary inputs that I use to play music with an Android phone and an iPod interface cable. I don’t have the NAV DVDs, but they can be purchased online easily. Plays DVD movies – passengers in the rear seats can see.
• Replaced the steering wheel with a smaller aftermarket Grant wheel and wired the horn properly. Still have the stock wheel and will include it and an inclinometer as well.
• Vin: JT4FJ60V4H1136935
• I have a few more pics, but they are all in a word doc and I am having difficulty copying them. I can get a video together this coming weekend and post it.

Wow, thanks Ryan! What a great thing you did there. I've been cyberly kicking tires on this one and watched the video twice. Your review is valuable. Very generous of you to share your impressions.

from a saab to a Toyota Landcruiser there is no comparison. you have to know that when you buy a TLC it will never go fast. maybe on a down hill. four wheel drives always handle different they track and pull. you have to take the good with the bad on theses trucks. Either way good review!

Where is the coolant going if there is a leak or she is using some? Also after she warms up do she still smoke like that in the video? Been looking for a clean 60 with the 5spd tranny! Also with that rust on the roof and coolant leak are you firm on this price?

you still looking to sell?

aww shucks
