I think I know my ECU is the correct one, as I was concerned bc my truck was an auto and at some point in its life it was converted to a manual.

let me share my current issue.. this is concerning a 1987 4Runner 22re, the truck was an auto and swapped to a manual. i think its important to provide all details

the truck runs great…my issue is my idle. ill crank the truck and it runs with a low idle and lumpy….i then adjust the idle screw and also the idle screw for the AC. i get ALMOST perfect..drive it and its perfect. I turn the truck off, get back in after a few mins or even seconds and the damn idle is back low and running lumpy…I adjust the idle screw, you get the picture. its like it resets each time i drive….i don’t have a surge, I don’t have a hunting idle, no check engine lights….its crazy….i have had my TPS adjusted ( i had 22re Performance do it for me) new injectors, plugs wires cap rotor….i am stumped….any ideas? i hope that makes sense.

Thank you for the help as I am stumped. It has been suggested the memory for ECU isn’t working? I have no clue what that is or how to even check. I will say my battery hasn’t died or been disconnected and I noticed the the. Lock lost almost 3 hours…..maybe something to this memory thing.

One other item. I do have two wires that seems to be cut behind the ECU. I need to find the diagram and see what they are…..

Thank you.

what do the idle air valve and hoses look like?
does it straighten up if you blip the throttle?
They are new. I have sprayed carb cleaner around to check for leaks. Nothing. It takes a bit to warm it up. As of today. When I warm it up she runs ok. Idle still not where I set It. Frustrating.

I have also tested the cold start injector plug ( brown) it’s within range. It says .30-70 ohms. It’s right at .30 ( maybe not
Good? I have replaced the ECU green switch.
