Looking for some advice here.
doing a full rebuild on a 22re for my 1stgen 4Runner. Machine shop just finished with my crank and informed me the rod bearing needed are +.040” (ouch!) and the crank is +.020”.
I’m already over budget and am inclined to run with this crank. Am I taking a massive risk here?
Anybody have a crank they can sell?
This build is not an ultra performance, everything perfect build. This rig has 320k on it. I’m going for a rusty but trusty vibe.

Bonus engine background: PO blew the timing chain guides and those bit ended up in the pick-up tube effectively starving the engine of oil.

If you have any 22re rebuild advice please share! I’ve done a few top ends. I’m a bottom end virgin

If the crank is done and ready to go, run it. Why spend money on another crank and more machine work? If it wasn't ok to run oversized bearings, the machine shop would have told you that you need another crank. Buy the correct size bearings and you'll be fine. Do check it with Plastigauge when you assemble.
