The 85 part is wrong for a FJ62. 01 might be correct on the 80 series. 01 80 series could be correct. Venezuela built 80 series through 2008. In fact, they didn't get fuel injected 80 series until 99 before that they had carbs on their 1FZs.

How did I think this was a diesel? Now I'm even more confused. An 85 with a 62 front end and dash?? Not the original engine?

This is infact a 1985 FJ62. Produced outside the US. Vin number confirms its an FJ62.

@ginericLC is correct on the 80 series part of it. The donor 80 series was a venezuelan spec 80.

Great-looking truck. Post up a picture of the Vin plate. That should clear up any questions.

I knew the quad lights (62) were available in other countries earlier than we got them. I didn't know they put the upgraded dash in that early. (1985)

The other country early FJ62s did not have the round dash and rectangular headlights. But they had a carbed 3F instead of the 2F so they were called FJ62s. Because it is over 25 years old registering it shouldn't be a problem even with the non-USA VIN. If I were in the market I'd question the body work as not all body work is created equal. And I'm not sure the value of adding a 1FZE to it. I'm cursing the one with the blown head gasket in my garage right now.

Ok this FJ62 was imported into Colombia from VZ. It indeed is a 1985 FJ62. Here is a picture of the vin plate. I am open to offers so make them!!!

It is still on leaf springs! ;)

That is a good looking Cruiser though. GLWS!

Cheers

Thanks yes. Its an FJ62. I wish I could do what your doing with your project.. Wish you luck with that as well.

interesting on the years. So were 60s and 62s sold at the same time in Columbia?

Venezuela had these. Its very weird to see. I have a 1986 FJ45 troopy from VZ as well.
