So We are selling our 1985 FJ60 because after pulling the head off I discovered that their is a hole in piston #6 and we just don't have the time to fix it before we are suppose to move. We paid $7500 for the truck when we got it two years ago in Oklahoma City and drove it to Tulsa where we lived. We moved to Forney TX (just outside of Dallas) and drove it down here were we are currently staying. We have invested lots of time and money into bringing it back to stock with a few modest upgrades and it has been the family vehicle for my wife and our now 4 kids. I will list the things I know are wrong with it and the things we have fixed and upgraded below in a pro's and con's list. Thank you for looking at our truck and we hope that its next owner takes as good care of it as we have.

New Fuel Filter

New Reverse light Switch

It has 3 wall outlets, one USB outlet, on/off switch, and a power usage gauge to show you how much of the 1000W you are using. We used it mostly for my wife's laptop when we went on long trips to visit family and my sons Gameboy.
New gas, clutch, and brake pedal covers.
Comes with the original Jack and such with the carrying case.
New ground point wires, all are 2GA
Rebuilt Carb
Used thermostat housing (new to this truck) with new gaskets and thermostat.
New engine side cover gasket
New valve cover gasket
Lightly used BFG all terrain tiers. Have about 80% tread left still.
I restored the wheels when I got it but the rust is starting to come back. (the never ending battle of oxidation)
Only three spots of rust that I have found on the body but all are pretty small.
New gas cap
Heater works great

Con's
Needs a new engine or new block with internals in it.
Dome lights don't work
Reverse lights don't work
Leaf springs could use replacing (I just never got that far)
Left blinker lights up on Braking
Rear passenger light cover is broken (I backed into a yellow pole like a moron and grazed it)
Will have to be towed on purchase
Paint on hood and roof is faded but no rust there.
Paint worn from gas coming out the fill spout before we got a new cap
A/C needs new compressor and Dryer $500 to self fix. (was the next thing I was going to fix)

Asking $5000 Firm due to all we have in it

Odometer reads 173907 but that is about 200 miles off as the Speedometer cable stopped working and I still needed to drive it before I was able to replace it. Also adding a few more pictures.

The Bigger rust spot on the truck. The others are just scratches that have rust from not being taken care of with touch-up paint when it was scratched. All before I got it.

There is also a tear in the drivers seat as most of them have. I can post a picture if needed of it.

Hi, could you take a pic of the driver's seat? I'd also like to see the engine compartment and the frame. Thanks

Here is the pic of the Seat, It's dark here so Ill need to take the frame and engine compartment pic tomorrow

OK, here are the pictures of the engine compartment. It was snowing when I took them and it was with my phone so the quality won't be as good. You can also see the 150 amp breaker in the "open" position as well as the 2ga wire going from it to the bat and the alt. The other 2ga wires going along the fender are to the 1000W inverter.

You can see the new starter in this one as well as the new fuel filter. I didn't replace the spark plug wires or the distributor cap but they look new. I think the previous owner might have replaced them. I did put new spark plugs in it though. Forgot to mention that above.

You can see the 2ga ground wire and the new Throttle cable in this pic too. Some of the surface rust is red mud but, their is surface rust underneath. You can see in the black oily spot just over the drive shaft that the body isn't actually rusty, I was trying to find the leak so I had to clean it off but never did find the leak and the oil is forming gunk back up again. most is just covered in old dirt and oil, however the old leaf springs, exhaust and tow hitch have surface rust.

You can clearly see the surface rust on the frame and the red mud on the transfer case. you can also see the new back up light switch.

All of the frame looks like this with the surface rust. I did have the front bumper cover off and re-sprayed it with rubber based undercoating and hit the front of the frame while I was at it but, most of the frame has the surface rust. Nothing major though.

Any other questions let me know.

Due to time we are dropping the price to $4000. You can easily get a fully rebuild engine for 2600 and have an excellent condition FJ for around 8k If you did the work. The carburetor has also been rebuilt already along with all of the other things we have already replaced and repaired. We have a lot of money and time invested in the truck and are taking a big loss on it. We need to sell it this week if at all possible.
