Here's a little info:
1984 FJ60 Landcruiser Gotta sell! Make an offer!
I bought it a couple of years ago. Selling it to get my daughter a more gas efficient vehicle.
The engine is stock 6 cyl. and the trans. is stock 4 speed.
Rust is at a minimum as far as I can tell.
The original color was white or tan and the interior is the tan-ish color. PO painted it blue.
I think the transfer case will need to be rebuilt in the future, just seals and such. It's not grinding, just slips out of 4-HI intermittently.
I would say there's no major issues with it. I've been driving to work in it the last 2 weeks. That is from Newberg to Hillsboro, over Mt. Chehalem. It can be a tricky drive depending on the weather.
It's a little hard to start if let it sit for a few days; it just needs a little nursing to get it started. Once it starts, no problems. I think it's the accelerator pump on the carb.
It wanders on the road like all LC's do.
I just replaced the alternator and replaced the harmonic balancer; it sheared the rivets on the pulley and fell apart. No damage to the crank, just fell apart. I was actually pulling off the highway when it did this. Stopped within a minute of it breaking and towed it home.
For a 27 yr. old vehicle, I think it's doing just fine. Lots of power. In fact I intend to make it as much of a daily driver as I can.
I hope this is enough info for you. If you have any questions please call.
Thanks,
Evan
