Sounds like an amazing truck, might want to add a bunch of photos detailing their work for the monies your asking. Not saying its not worth it just need some more porn there to entice someone looking.

Love the turbo upgrade!

PM me if you are interested , I will provide any additional photos that you will need. I think this show truck has to be Seen to be Appreciated. I've put my heart and soul, money to make it better than any stock BJ42, unless the original feel and look is what your after. My is easily a daily driver with control, comfort, enjoyment and a Show truck. I know it's not for everyone, the price I've posted, is not even close to what I've spend $$$$ on building it, Thanks for looking

Love the addition of a 13BT turbo motor, but the engine bay doesn't look restored at all.

When does the "fully restored" and "show truck" part come into play?

Just a few tech questions here:

Do you have compression test numbers on the 13BT?

How many original miles on the 13BT engine?

How many miles on the vehicle?

Fresh paint means a couple weeks to a month ago, a few yrs ago is non specific and is no longer fresh.

Have you fully restored the steering knuckles or do they shown signs of oil leaks?

Is this a Japanese import or from another RHD country?

What's your definition of fully restored that commands $41K?

Mike,
I see this truck is not for your taste buds, every piece of art of works, is not beauty in everybody eyes. If I told you I've spend $65K to get this truck build. Yes, you might even say I'm Really Stupid, that fine by me.. I'm only here to post what I have for sale, I'm not here to fight or argue my case. You Win, FYI motor was from RADD cruiser, compression was very good. Thanks You

Listen Ken,

When selling a vehicle people will ask questions, all types of questions, as I have done here, and serious sellers will respond. I understand you don't want to answer my questions, and that's fine, but do it for the next potential buyer.

All it takes is about 20 minutes to add pictures and to answer questions that will help others learn more about the condition of your vehicle and also help you sell.

Believe me as an old fart I've been selling vehicles for fifty plus years and I know what sells and what doesn't sell. An accurate description and plenty of pics sell vehicles. As you already may know I'm looking for a 1984 BJ42 5 speed as such I had questions, unfortunately yours is not fully restored and not a show truck as you claim. Sorry if I've offended you in any way as that was not my intent.

Enough said...good luck with the sale of your cruiser.

Mike

Being in the Market for a CLEAN, Diesel FJ or BJ (And I think I have settled on a BJ74) I can say that for someone like me to bite... I need to see more photo's. When I have the desire and money burning a hole in my pocket... I want to see.

That shot of the Engine bay to me does not say "Show Truck" and there are very few other pics that will lead me to believe the vehicle is actually restored and literally needs nothing.

Now this bloke is asking way too much for his rig in my opinion... Toyota : Land Cruiser FJ-40

But one can tell by looking at the photos.... it is literally a restored vehicle that I would venture to say, is show worthy.

JMO

I wish you had more pics and maybe a better response to those who have gone before me, since I may have been interested.

Sorry Mate.

There seems to be a great deal of consternation associated with this thread so perhaps this will help.......

Ken,

I'm tired of waiting!

If you can't answer questions and post additional pics then...

What makes this an LX model? There is no LX on the emblem. I do see the three wipers and a tach. But the zebra cloth is gone, is there a forward facing rear bench?

OK Guys, Sorry to keep you holding. Mike, I appreciate your suggestion. I was still contemplating if I should sell it. I think this "Show Truck" is getting a little out of context. This is my view on it. Everybody that I've meet, that have seen it, said it is very clean and a like Show truck. In my opinion it is close to that. Yes, Not the Engine bay, beside I don't even think they make any Chrome accessories for this 13B-T motor, and it would look out of line or goofy anyways for this type of truck. My intension wasn't to state that it was a Show winner or Ring Brother custom build truck, its a clean, excellent condition truck. Yes, paint is 3 yrs old, but it always in storage. It still looks like it was paint few months ago, excellent 9-10. You can be the Judge, went you look at it in person. Which I would assume anybody would do that if they were to purchase it. I have nothing to hide. Upon the price it is what it is... I'm willing to work with it, if I have a serious buyer. Your option, you can buy a rig for $20K +/- for BJ not an FJ, ADD up all the work, add the 13B-T turbo diesel import to the States Est: $9-10K, then you see how much it add up too, see if it make sense, and that not included the etc,etc...

Information:
1) BJ42 LX imported from New Zealand

2) 13B-T motor is from 1986 BJ74 from RADD Cruiser with John, 180K KM (the most I've put on it is 1-2K miles)
Compression test numbers:

1 - 500
2 - 470
3 - 480
4 - 480

~John
"as state by John"

3) LX Badge was taken off went painted, painter loss it. (you can purchase on Ebay for $50)
What make it a LX: 3B motor is included w/sale, 3 blade wipers, factory 5 spds, AC, PB, PS, Zebra bench (which I do have with sale, but comfort is no match to Corbeau seats), I might of missed sometime else, I sure you guys can listed the other stuff.

4)** It"s Not a FJ converted to BJ, It a True BJ42 LX, state on VIN tag and Pink slip. So please Don't price it like a FJ, It Much more work to get these here in the States, if you know what I mean.. FJ40 are a dime by the dozen here.

I will Post more Pics in a bit

I think the previous engine photo a bit ugly, maybe due to camera or flash, just posted reg light. I hope everybody at ease...
