I am selling my 1984 BJ42 Toyota Landcruiser. This truck is registered and titled in Tennessee.

I bought this truck a couple years ago from a gentleman in Toronto who performed restoration of the Cruiser a few years ago and kept it in his garage since then. When I bought it, I kept it in my garage as well, and it's still in fantastic condition. I've only driven it a few hundred miles since I bought it back in 2013 and I've never taken it off road. The body and its wheel wells are virtually rust free to my knowledge. You may find some surface rust on the screws for the hood hinges, and there's some on the tow hooks on the bumper, but that's pretty much it. You can also see some light surface rust in photos of the leaf springs. I've taken the best pictures I could to show you the full condition of this car as I see it, if you want more detailed pictures of anything certainly let me know, I want you to have full knowledge of this car's condition. I'm certainly proud of how it has been cared for thus far. Pictures are here:

That said, here's the run down on this truck...

- 189,574 miles
- 3B diesel
- 5 speed manual
- power steering
- disc brakes in front, drum in rear
- WARN winch, pretty sure it's never been used
- Good Year tires, lots of tread left
- original white 6-spoke wheels
- grey interior, very clean
- CD player & XM receiver (installed by previous owner)

I've never had a single issue with this truck. It has run great in every way for me during my time owning it. I hope it finds a great home soon with someone who loves Cruisers!

Selling for $25,000 OBO, buyer responsible for pickup or shipping. It will stay in the garage until then.

If you have any questions let me know!

David

Just a quick word, initially described the restoration as 'frame off', but after some thought I understand this is a term that may mean a lot of different things to different people. To clarify: I cannot say every part of the drivetrain has been replaced with brand new, all I can say is that this restoration by the previous owner was extensive, appears very well done, and that the truck runs fantastic. Hopefully the pictures to which I linked vouch for that, but there's nothing like getting in and taking it for a drive to see for yourself.

It may not have been necessary to clarify this, but I wanted to be as up front as possible with anyone interested. Thanks!

Do you have any pictures of the floor right beside each of the front seats? Pulling up the mat and showing the condition of the metal underneath? I did not see any when I looked at your album

Was dealing with seller yesterday when he told me he had excepted higher offer so I assume it's a goner!

Asking price reduced to $23,000. Anyone out there in Cruiserland have an offer on their mind?

Hi,

I am interested in your truck and pm'd you several days ago. Please let me know a good way to contact you.

Thanks,
John

I know this BJ42! I came within a whisker of buying it, but ended up going with a JDM 1993 HZJ77 instead. The owner in Toronto may have been original owner? Or second owner? (can't recall this detail). The Toronto owner literally had never taken it off road. Specifically, he never took it off pavement (no gravel or lawn!). It was always stored indoors, and heated indoor storage for winter. It was never driven on a rainy day. Probably the 4 wheel drive and winch have never been activated by the previous owner. I test drove it and it drove like a BJ42 should (probably could use a 60 series steering box :) ). Family didn't like riding in the back jump bench seats, so that was a deal breaker. Would have looked sweet in my driveway (buying both the HZJ77 and the BJ42 wasn't in the cards though!). Good luck with the sale and the new owner will have a real beauty of a Cruiser!

Hey folks, sorry I've been out of touch on Mud, should have gotten responses to all of you much sooner!

The Cruiser is sold.
