I am getting ready to swap my 1983 H41 transmission and transfer case to a H55F. I am planning on doing this swap in the near future by Spring 2019 the latest. I figured I would mention this now, for anyone looking for something like this and it gives you a little advance notice. Not sure how much interest there is for this set up. But space in my garage is limited, and when my swap is done, I would like this transmission and transfer set up gone. Being removed from vehicle with approximately 105,000 miles...works and shifts fine with no unusual noises. Has 2F input shaft for gas. Asking 750.00

Hello All! I appreciate the interest and I want to be as helpful as possible. I am not an expert here, but like all of you I love Land Cruisers. The vehicle this set-up is currently in has a floor lever parking brake that goes to the rear wheel drums. I can double check...but I am almost certain it is a split case. My FJ40 originally came from Columbia. I hope this added information helps.

To figure out the amount of splines on the output shaft of the transfer case....Can I remove the rear drive shaft and count the splines?? I just want to be as helpful to any of you that are interested in this set-up. Thank you again.

If the transfer case has a ring of bolts holding a clamshell front and rear housing together, it is a split case. The transmission will have a 19 spline output.

GLWS.

BTW, I am interested too.

Ok. Currently rc10 is first, then Tennessee80, and then 65swb45. I will update as soon as I hear from rc10. Also, knowing there is enough interest in this transmission and transfer case may get me moving along on my swap quicker. Either way, I am easy going, and flexible...its nice to know someone will appreciate and use the H41 and split transfer case. The build date on my 1983 FJ40 donor vehicle is January 1983.

No problem. Both those guys are a lot closer to you than I am, which is a BIG deal when it comes to shipping.

I don’t personally need the trans, but I would consider offering to rebuild and install it for the owner of the MM40, which currently has a 3speed. IOW, seriously under-geared for moving an FJ40 motorhome! She already has an FJ60 rear end, so lack of a parking brake on the tcase is no issue.

An update. This transmission and transfer case should be removed and available around the end of January 2019. Shipping or pickup would be tentatively from Easthampton Machine and Tool, MA 01027

Nice to see the H41’s are actually worth enough to ship cross countey. I’ve been stashing one for awhile now.

Update. Waiting to hear from RC10....then next in line if I don't hear from RC10 is Tennessee80. Pickup location could also be Greg's Restorations in Rutland MA 01543 or Easthampton Machine and Tool in Easthampton MA 01027 which ever location is easier for the buyer. If shipping or freight is preferred please understand that will be extra on your end. I believe the transmission and transfer case package is being removed now as I type this....so it is available for pickup this week or next.
