Thanks alot for the info. This is very helpful. I think the bolt came out as I could see where it ws supposed to go yet didnt feel a bolt. How could it have come loose ? Where is the closest source of an oil leak to that ? Btw, you have a nice clean looking rig !
As for the pic of the bent metal, here is where I meant:

Ah that is a relief to see that yours has a bend as well haha. One less thing to temporarily not worry about (wait to do a frame off once I get a more permanent garage). I gotta get that bold holder setuo and the leak squared away though. I cant tell if it is antifreeze or oil. I kind of hope it is antifreeze.View attachment 1523041 View attachment 1523042 Double checked mine... seems normal to me!
What exactly does the "air pump" do on a 2F FJ60 ? I've never heard of such a thing on other cars I've had. Just wondering because it looks like I will need to move it around to tighten the water pump belt on my rig which is extremely loose.
Yes, there are actually three bolts you need to deal with (assuming you still have everything you're supposed to have).
Loosen the nut on the back of 17314A. This is the pivot point. Then loosen 90109-08038. This bolt threads into 17317 and locks the pump in place. Order doesn't matter so much, but both need to be loosened before trying to adjust tension. Then adjust tension with 90199-08264, left to loosen, right to tighten. Reverse order to lock it back down. You want the belt to be tight enough to drive the water pump without slipping, but not too tight. Too tight can wear out the WP.

Ah ok thanks alot this is very helpful. I hadnt seen this diagram on the wrbsites of the parts places, is this one specifically for the smog pump ?
This is insane ! I am a newbie to this I admit, but I couldnt figure out how to get the fan shroud out as one piece without removing the radiator. After basically pulling out the front end, that I could remove the fan from the clutch to make this easier. The diagram is from the Air Pump page in the BJ/HJ/FJ60 parts fiche. The one that SOR has on their site looks like maybe it's for the FJ40.
Refer back to this diagram @fjgdk for the bolts to loosen for the air pump belt.Yes, there are actually three bolts you need to deal with (assuming you still have everything you're supposed to have).

As for the water pump, I cant remove the fan clutch because the belt is so loose. How exactly do I access the nut on the back of 17314A without removing a hornets nests of hoses and the water pump ? Seems like 17317 is missing as is 90119-08264. whoever put this belt in before really screwed me.
