Sumbody find this man some crap fenders to cut on... Those stock ones look waayy to nice to be cut up....

Beefed up the stock bumper brackets and got the winch plate tacked up and the assembly bolted on. I'll be adding more frame gussets after I get everything tacked together.

Looks good Tony. So how is it mounting to the frame?

The stock bracket has 4 bolts into the frame but I'm planning on adding at least 2 more attachment points (probably off the front crossmember) given the stresses it will see. Still trying to make it removable but I'm not sure that's going to pan out.

good thinking on the extra bolts!! Have plans for stinger of any type? Would suggest some sort of corner marker protection as well, it's a very vulnerable spot.

Got it mostly cut out and tacked into place. Next step will be to pull it off and gusset the back and weld it out. Surprisingly, I've got less than a 2'x2' piece of 3/16 plate in it. It took me a while to get the nerve to cut the fenders, but I think I like it.

Got the bumper welded up. I'm going to scrap the purely bolt on idea and weld it to the truck.

And gussets - hopefully it will hold up.

What winch are you planning on getting?

Well, it ain't bolt on but hopefully it'll hold up.

Gotta have the blinks even though only i don't think either works :hillbilly:.

Looks good Tony. guess we'll get to try it out at GSMTR. you figured out your schedule yet?

To bring this back up, I made a hand shake deal for the trailer below for $1200. It needs brakes and lights wired up, a bracket made for the ramps, and fenders. I can handle all of that pretty easily. I can still back out but wondering if this is still too expensive and wait for a more complete trailer. Thoughts?

Trailer heavy duty 7 ton dual axle

Also, is it difficult to register a currently non registered trailer? All I'll probably have is a bill of sale.

Hmmm, you asked so here it goes...

man that ad just reaks of misinformation to me. Has new brakes but don't work, no ramps, 7 tons, come on. For a few bucks more you can find a legit trailer with no issues and no questions.

Is it homemade? 14ft is pretty short and may force you put your truck pretty far forward of the axles causing a lot of tongue weight on the tow rig You will want to put a storage box on it somewhere as well.

They're definitely NOT 7 Ton axles that's for damned sure, cant tell if they're 5 or 6 lug but I'd guess they are 3500 LB axles to make a total of 7K LB capacity.

If your hell bent to get to I'd say absolutely no more than $900-$1000 considering you have a lot of unknowns and issues to work out.

Registering is easy, a bill of sale and a VIN # I think is all that is needed.

Few bucks more, new, longer deck, brakes and dovetail

NEW 2016 CAR HAULER TRAILER 6'10 x 18'

My vote, keep looking. Not sure down that way, but they pop up up here fairly regularly.

Make a deal and I will drag it to GSMTR for you.

Looks to be homemade but all c channel frame and rails. The deck is 7x14. Brand new trailer tires and brakes on 1 axle, they just need to be wired. He said the axles are 7k lb each. It comes with ramps, I'd just have to fab the bracket to attach them to the trailer.

I could be wrong but I thought most 7kLB trailer axles were 8 stud and not to get picky but theres a huge difference b/w 7klb and 7 ton.
