Selling a very nice FJ40 for a friend to settle an estate. This truck was the pride and joy of her partner who died suddenly last year. He had Cruiser Solutions in New Hampshire find a restorable 1980 FJ40 for him in January 2006. Invoice shows they charged $2500 for the truck. Subsequent invoices from Cruiser Solutions total more than $55K, yes that's correct. The invoices cover a wide gamut of new parts and work done to the truck, and I have a copy of all the receipts. Looks like the last receipt was dated November 2007 so I assume that's about the time Joe took posession of his 40. A lot of the later receipts show discounted labor pricing I can only assume that Joe was getting a bit concerned about the dollar amount of his investment.

This truck is in excellent condition, a beautiful example of a restored 40. Has an aluminum tub, new OEM Toyota hood and front fenders, full Old Man Emu suspension, Saginaw power steering, and what looks to be the good Manafre header. Also has new OEM full tank and straps, stainless steel clutch, brake, and fuel lines. I've driven it, it gowes down the road nicely, stops as it should, steers well, and the engine has good power and shoes no smoke or bad noises. Outside of the truck is excellent no rust anywhere it was garage kept after the restoration. Interior is excellent, seats are very nice, dash is about perfect. Has a Tuffy console and the interior has been tastefully rhinolined. The rear seat looks like the Conferr folding seat and there is also a (Conferr I think) storage box behind the seat. Neither the console nor the Conferr seat and tool box are in the receipts. In fact, stuff like new tail lights and stuff like that don't show anywhere in the receipts- I'd bet there is more than $60K invested in this truck.

The truck is exceptionally clean inside and out, as wella s under the hood and undercarriage. Engine appears to have epoxy painted and the engine compartment looks original and very nice. Tires are BFG all terrains with like new tread. Has aluminum wheels and an aftermarket front bumper. Everything works- lights, turn signals, hazard lights, parking brake wipers on both speeds, heater fan, horn, etc. Joe had started to install satellite radio in the truck and never finished it. The only glitch I see in the truck is that it has an earlier bib and headlight surround, and I see no explanation for this substitution in any of the CS receipts.

Check out the photos- it's an awesome 40. I can send receipts to anyone seriously interested, my email is shmukter@pa.metrocast.net. Lisa would like to get $30K for the truck, it's located near Reading PA.

Ayo bro, I notice your user name and the email address in the ad are slightly different. Is there no "s" in the email?

What are all the wires hanging down inside?

I've only seen one cruiser this color and it was at Cruiser Solutions around 06-07 and it had just been painted. I was checking it out and it's a REALLY nice truck. Has to be the same one. The unit hanging down looks like it says Kenwood on it. Probably something to do with the stereo. GLWS

There's some additional pictures and video on the cruiser solutions website. nice rig!

Yes this is the truck that is on the CS site. It was sold yesterday to a local guy- hoping he becomes the newest member of the Keystone cruisers! he's getting an awesome 40, it runs great and looks great. it's covered in dust right now but should be cleaned up in the very near future. The wires are part of the Sirius radio setup the PO was in the process of installing when he passed. the install was never completed. Color-wise the truck is perfect- the new owner is a Penn State fan! Thanks, Gary

Thanks for everything Gary.
Was great to meet you.
These trucks have history, this one's story I will always remember.

Bumping this to the top because I am offering this same 40 up for sale that I bought nearly 2 years ago.
Ive put less than 1000 miles on it, changed ALL the fluids myself, and rebuilt the parking brake myself.
Put in a new air filter and a new battery in it as well, and keep it on a tender.
It has been garage (heated/AC'd) kept since I have it, washed and waxed a few times.
Ive never had it offroad, excluding my back yard, and recently thanks to all the rain tested the 4wd to get up out of my back yard (all grass).
Runs and tracks great.
It's not perfect, but its very good.
I have the clean PA title in hand.
New inspection sticker on it.
I have the year appropriate bib (no bezel) that will be included with the sale.
I took the Conferr Bench seat out (which needs a new lockset) so I could use the back for groceries and such, yes, groceries. LMAO. It will be included in the sale as well.
I took the satellite antenna out, unsure if I kept that or not (ill look), so all those cords and junk are gone and the floor is clean...radio/cd in console works well.
Starts a conversation wherever I go, and have been car chased a few times til I stopped.
It is near Jim Thorpe-Lehighton PA.
I simply don't use it like it should be used, and have developed a few new other costly hobbies, and our 1 kid just started college and another will be in college soon.
Don't need the money, so not going to give it away but the first fair offer I get she will find a new home.
Serious offers only.
I think Gary is still out West but he knows the truck.
I know I'll miss it but with my lifestyle I simply don't think it will ever get used like it should in my hands.
I know this is the right place to sell her...
I have the CS receipts for any serious potential buyer's perusal, and believe the frame off resto is still documented on their website of this truck.
I registered it mileage exempt.
Any other questions ask away.
I hope Gary doesn't mind me re-using this post/thread.
Ill start a new one and attempt to link this thread as well.
Todd

shouldn't that bezel be square in 1980?
