Wow, nicely done! If I hadn't taken a different direction in life this summer with the monies I would snag this. Beautiful cruiser!

Great looking 40... GLWS!

This beautiful 1979 Toyota FJ-40 is finished in Sky Blue over gray interior. One of the best-driving 40’s we’ve had yet! You are going to love it.

Mechanically, she rates a ONE. Runs strong with its original 4.2-liter F2 OHV inline-6 motor capable of 135hp and mated to a 4-speed transmission. The latest owner was generous with the maintenance budget. Last year this FJ was treated well by the Cruiser experts at Torfab in Everett, WA. Invoices include:
  • Old Man Emu suspension system.
  • 2F ignition parts upgrade. Removed the old point style using FJ60 distributor, side cover, ignitor, and coil with OEM Toyota spark plug wire set and new spark plugs.
  • Oil pan, timing cover and transmission-to-transfer-case gasket.
  • Front crankshaft, rear transfer case output and transmission-to-transfer-case seals.
  • OEM Toyota ignition switch.
  • OEM Toyota brand Aisin clutch master cylinder.
  • Oil for front and rear differential, transmission and transfer case.
  • Knuckle Rebuild (Tear axle down to bare housing, cleaned knuckles, spindle, backing plate, hub housing, hub, brake rotors, installed new knuckle bearings, knuckle wiper seals, inner axle seals, hub seals, wheel seals, all gaskets, greased all bearings, cleaned and grease birfields, pack knuckles with grease, re-install knuckles.)
  • Inspected brake calipers, inspected and replace where necessary brake rotors and pads.
This iconic Land Cruiser also features power steering. The steering is tight with no center play; it tracks perfectly straight and instills a high degree of confidence; not always common for an FJ-40.

Cosmetically, she is condition TWO. The restoration is a few years old. It was very well done to like new standards and it is well preserved. Very good paint, great interior. The chassis restored to showroom condition. A rear bench seat is included (as seen in pictures) along with the OEM jumper seats. The original Toyota floor mats, heater and fire extinguisher are included along with the original tool kit and owner’s manual. It will regularly win you awards at your local car show.

does it come with a grey floor mat?

looks like the exhaust rubs on the shock?

Is she still available?

Yes it comes with the original grey floor mats. The exhaust does not rub on the shocks.

very nice 40!

the work Torfab did seems a bit odd for a 79, as it already has electronic ignition.....ie...no points and I don't think the big cap 81+ dizzy is an upgrade. now maybe the someone at some point changed to a non US dizzy(with points) but that would seem odd, and Tor changed it back to electronic......

regardless......nice 40!
