Cruiser is located in Raleigh North Carolina
THE UPFRONT:
My name is Lucas, I am selling this Cruiser for a family friend/neighbor. He owns a landscaping business and works full time. He will be fully involved with the transaction and is available to communicate with any potential buyer.

Paul (the owner) came to me mid 2015 entertaining the idea of selling his beloved 1979 FJ40 Land Cruiser. He knew it needed a little bit of attention so he brought it to me and asked if I would handle that and all inquiries.

HISTORY:
It is a 1979 FJ40 Land Cruiser. Restored by Cool Cruisers of Texas about 20 years ago. Paul purchased it from CCOT in 1996. I have all of the paper work from Cool Cruisers. The rig was restored at 79,000 miles. It now has 89,876, with many of these miles being accumulated when it was driven from Texas to North Carolina. It has been garage kept when not being driven and has not been licensed for driving in the past decade or so. Throughout this period the Cruiser has been started and driven periodically.

WHAT I DID:
-New fluids (oil, coolant, brake, gear, transmission, petrol)
-New battery
-New plugs
-New plug wires
-New passenger door handle (from Cool Cruisers of Texas)
-New gas door lock (from Cool Cruisers of Texas)
-New high altitude compensator valve
-Replaced vacuum lines and rerouted ones that had slipped off
-New carburetor (old included)
-Greased all fittings
-Some heavy duty dusting

It does still need a few things done to it and I plan on fixing these before selling it, or it can be negotiated.

WHAT I NEED TO DO
-The exhaust pipe needs to be rerouted. It currently comes out beneath the driver's door instead of out the back like stock. I'm not sure why CCOT did it this way or why they didn't correct it.??
-Fuel gauge doesn't work
-Replace air cleaner boot
-"Fasten Seat Belt" light illuminates whenever the rig is on
-The plastic rear brake reservoir leaks out its fluid where it enters the master cylinder

I am still working on completing these tasks as time allows and plan to have the exhaust professionally redone in the next week or two. I drive/exercise this rig about once a week and it runs great. The truck is in excellent condition with just a few nicks here and there... nothing major, but stuff you would expect from a 20 year old restore. The body, frame, and engine are all very solid, as is the extremely smooth shifting transmission. The door seals, window glass, and gaskets all are like new. Included is an early model Ramsey 3000 winch which has a value of $500+. I can remove this if you don't want it. This rig is already a show quality vehicle and is not far from being immaculate. I will try to post a link to more pictures as soon as possible, meanwhile let me know if you would like to have any specific photos. Also please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Price is reduced to $38,000 OBO for all Ih8mud members. Again, this is a very solid rig. There is one spot of rust by the gas pedal on the firewall/floor board. This is a strange rust spot to me. It is not rotten metal that was ever just painted over, but instead seems like an area where the paint didn't want to stick and since the restore has developed some surface rust. It would not take much to repair and in no means needs any bondo. Just some sanding, masking, and respraying.

Here are some more photos. 1979 FJ40 Land Cruiser.
